They should end the H1B program entirely, especially since a lot of H1Bs have fake credentials. I would never trust an H1B "doctor" to do a heart or brain surgery on me.

Near the end of Donald Trump’s first term, the administration proposed ending the current random selection process used each year when H-1B registrations exceed the annual limit of 65,000, plus a 20,000 exemption for individuals with an advanced degree from a U.S. university. In its place, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services would have awarded H-1B petitions based on salary from highest to lowest. Commenters warned the rule violated the statute and would disadvantage recent international students and other early-career professionals. Thanks, cant believe I missed that. Yeah, ending the program entirely would be nice but it won't be done without the massive amount of chimping out from pajeets. If you want to remove it, the slow boiling frog is a good strategy.

I can imagine 1 of 3 scenarios happening: it'll have more teeth on what qualifies for merit, 2. It'll be useless, but intententionally so to justify eliminating H-1Bs at the very least to places like India, or 3. It will do fuck all.

I worked with an Indian engineer who would stamp a set of plans about 15min after I sent them to him. We always have a real engineer do the work, he'd just stamp and collect the money. He somehow has a stamp for all 50 states, something our real engineers don't have. He has settled multiple lawsuits against him, probably from clients who didn't realize he doesn't do any actual work. How these pajeets scam their way into professional careers is amazing in a way.

After re-reading the story it looks like it'll be based on salary with the idea being H1B's are for jobs that are difficult to find anyone for so the pay should be much higher than everyone else's. In other words they're saying H1B's should be replacing management not labor.
