But that's the problem. CP is a bad thing, but they use that as a wedge and expand the meaning of CP.

eg. I remember when game journos tried to call The Sorceress from Dragons Crown a loli. They got laughed at, but it was a case of trying to boil the frog too fast.

That's only because people have an interest in hating GG and what it achieved. The idea that some sweaty neckbeard virgins incels were the first community to put up any real, effective resistance while every other community and hobby immediately rolled over infuriates them.

For me I don't want to make the cashier who's been standing up for 1-8 hours straight count my money, it just seems wrong as someone who had that job for a while.

The specific journo you're referring to is Jason Schreier, who is often hailed as the most "reputable" corporate journo for the exposés he's made on companies like Blizzard and Bungie, which are now notorious for being shitty places to work at.
