What is going on here? Is this normal? It looks like the cake is on top of one of those cake transportation things with a lockable Tupperware top, so I assume this is the dish she will serve it on. That frosting job is mystifying. Why can I see the cake?!

I get that she wants a turtle, and she's trying to get a turtleshell seamed look to show delineation between the scutes. She's just done the opposite of every obvious way to accomplish this for some reason. Why do nearly all the work with individual rounds and stars?

E: Not that I'm saying this needs to be some kind of artistic masterpiece or paragon of turtle cake craftsmanship, like just...lines. Smooth layer of frosting...and lines. That you pipe. With a tip. They're 2, they aren't going to be criticizing the realism of the scutes on their turtle cake.

If I had to guess she bullheadedly decided to use only the tools immediately on hand, which seemingly were a butterknife, a piping bag, and a couple of tips, because she's GOOD at THINGS and SHE CAN DO THIS...rather than spending $10-20 on an offset spatula to make everything easier forever, and not create a cake that looks like it ended up on the wrong end of an encounter with some drunk rednecks plinking 50 miles away from the nearest highway.

The cake is kind of cute in a derpy sort of way. It looks like something a kid would make and I'm sure their niece/nephew would probably like it. But considering Anisa is an adult, the sloppiness of the frosting work is really egregious, even for her.
