This is a Community Watch thread. That means it's basically a lolcow thread. The Linux thread is probably more about FOSS itself. That said you find a lot of crossover. I see people autistically arguing about technical issues on this thread, and I see people (including myself) going off on a rant about troons in the Linux thread, where it really should be technical and I should STFU because I don't know jack about Linux compared to most of the actually useful posters there.

Reminder that Canonical knew Bicha was a sadistic child rapist before they even hired him, and instead of telling him to kick rocks they protect him.

I was mainly venting about the schizoposting lol.

I do wish there would be some productive genuine discussion and advice relating to FOSS stuff. FOSS world needs (semi) sane people actually contributing and being useful since all the troons and jeets have been fucking the scene up for a while now sadly.

If they release video of Bicha, it could get memed pretty hard. I don't think I've heard him speak anywhere yet, I've only seen his many government-assisted portraits.

There was the wishful thinking that a concerned colleague would confront him live at one of these cons. For all we know, there are no insiders uncomfortable with Bicha, they are just a figment of Lunduke's imagination. Or they could be outnumbered by those who are jealous of Bicha. Either way, there's no good excuse to not release the VOD. They could be hiding him for a year or more so that more people forget about him. But he's a Google alert away from becoming a topic of discussion again.

I think confronting him will get you unpersoned in these circles and I have my sincere doubts anyone dared to speak up. I'm actually so generous and optimistic to believe that these people don't protect him because he's a child rapist, but because they can never admit to any wrongdoing whatsoever. These are the same people that try to push wayland and other such cool Nu- paradigms of own-fart-sniffing for 16 years and will resort to things like outright censorship of differing opinions to do so. What makes you think they'd admit wrongdoing here? It's the people at the top having giant egos and the people lower down towing the party line, afraid to step out. The USSR comparisons are very apt. It's not hard to see how such an environment can't possibly be a fertile ground for anything good and it really explains all the garbage that comes out of these projects.

I've switched to xlibre now, not because I think it's ready but because I feel I should get used to it, also because I have no doubts the xserver could see "bug fixes" very soon that will be akin to supply chain attacks (that's just the kind of people we're dealing with here and they've willfully broken stuff in it before) and while I just could stay on the current version, I feel it's better just to rip that band-aid off, especially considering I don't really believe xlibre will fizzle out anymore. It's 2025 and I should be in a position where I can't decide which cool new computing paradigm I allow to blow my mind next, instead I've got to dodge and carefully select packages, lest plebbitors, trannies and literal sex offenders shit my computer up. What a time to be alive.

I can tell you that XLibre still can't handle disparate refresh rates between monitors, but it also doesn't drop or miss frames nearly as often as X.Org did for 3D applications. Still on the fence if raw performance is better or worse than wayland.

I totally agree, but is anyone actually staging a protest or are there just videos pointing out the hypocrisy? For me, yes, the hypocrisy is insane, but I am genuinely primarily mad that they are employing sexual predators.

eta: I think they’re defending him because of who’s attacking too.
