Original reporting is valuable, but she doesn't do that in any meaningful context, she's no Jason Schreier. Guide content is low grade but reliable revenue, but she doesn't bring anything original or leading in that space, she's not really a leading edge gamer - Good guide and content creators are the kinds of writers who spend 12 hours a day grinding to be immediately ready to map out the next expansion. Opinion articles are saturated, and the "Gamers are trash" opinion angle is PARTICULARLY saturated. They absolutely get clicks, but I could find fifty writers within 24 hours willing to pen an article for a hundred bucks or less each, all designed to ragebait.

Experience only matters when it actually leads to a quality improvement, Alyssa only has time in seat, not meaningful improvement behind her. She's indistinguishable from any fresh writer in the pool who thinks they can change the world with an article, and her pay and opportunities reflects that. Be a better grade of journalist, or be paid like the trash you are currently.
