The most hilarious part to me is shitting on someone with a reasonable case that may not have the best expertise, while they all pretend they're distributed compute engineer and that deploying modern game server infrastructure is akin to splitting the atom by hand.
My nigger in the LORD, you can deploy most AWS stacks fully locally with
https://localstack.cloud, if you use Terraform or something to deploy it, it has local deployment options, and if you're using kubernetes, you can deploy entire charts on a single machine using fucking podman.
Quite literally ALL MMOs have local deployments that fit on a single machine for the purposes of creating new content. Is that so fucking impossible for them to believe?
Truly, these niggers cannot think of reasonable arguments, it's either "its obscenely complex and nobody will be able to deploy it ever" or "it'll bankrupt us trying to make it work on a single machine".
