Not really. Most easily accessible deposits have been found. Newer deposits require huge investments that industry isn’t willing to make, since their profitability is dependent on prices remaining high, which isn’t guaranteed.

Except it doesn’t. Higher gas prices means higher earning for Russian gas companies even if they sell less. (And btw: Gas and oil is a shrinking part of the Russian states export income.)

If part of the deal is to stop buying Russian gas, it does hurt Russian gas companies. It isn't surprising gas export is shrinking when most people have been trying to get off Russian gas because of the war in Ukraine. The effects of more gas exports from the US is more jobs. This is simple. Unless you can point to a corresponding drop in domestic demand. Which is unlikely. The tar sands in Canada exists as a perfect example of once not-profitable oil becoming profitable. The same can be said for these new deposits.

Doubt because the aforementioned reasons. You’re more likely to see American oil and gas companies invest in fields in South America like Guyana. Or maybe even Venezuela.

Unlikely given Trump will place tariffs on those imports.
