I remember the bit. From my experience eventually, all debt collectors will settle for less. They bought the debt for pennies on the dollar so anything out of you is a profit. You can set up a payment plan that isn't onerous. I don't know about 3 dollars, though.

You don't need credit repair. After a few years, your bad goy demerits get wiped clean and you can move on with your life. This really only works with medical debt and small, unsecured lines. If it's 10k+, you're going to have problems. Less than 5k? You can get out of that without paying dime.
