I was reminiscing on playing Deus Ex (the original), and it had a rather nuanced take on how the only reason the NSF you initially view as insurrectionists and terrorists had any sort of point was that they were right about the government being an impotent tool of the real power wielders who were using said government to violently suppress any dissent.

Otherwise, the game also stopped to point out that the NSF (New Sons of Freedom) were also largely composed of people like these antifa fools, in that many just wanted an excuse to be thugs and morally justify it, many had idiotic ideas about the state and how government actually worked, and some were basically LARPers who, at the end of the day, would run in fear if they didn't have huge numbers behind them, not to mention they also had little in the way of an end goal aside from "Smash the State".

And unlike in Deus Ex, these wannabe rebels live in a world and under circumstances the average victim of an actual fascist government would've have run through broken glass and rusty nails for.

00-09: Random asshole with a black mask and a glass bottle running around in the streets
10-98: Spoiled kid living on daddy/the governments money tweeting how virtuous antifa is and how daddy/the government needs to die
99: disposable CNN reporter

Done. A picture would be overkill.

Even the Onion (subsidiary of Univision now) is shitting on Berkeley's response to antifa

Berkeley Campus On Lockdown After Loose Pages From ‘Wall Street Journal’ Found On Park Bench
BERKELEY, CA—Advising students to remain in their dormitories and classrooms until the situation was resolved, the University of California, Berkeley declared a campuswide lockdown Thursday after several loose pages from The Wall Street Journal were found on a park bench outside a school building. “At 11:15 this morning, several pages from two separate sections of today’s Wall Street Journal were discovered spread across a bench outside of Eshleman Hall in Lower Sproul Plaza,” read the urgent alert sent to all students and faculty, emphasizing that while campus security and local police had safely disposed of the pages, there was no way of knowing if others were strewn elsewhere on university grounds. “As of now, the perpetrator remains at large, so it is vital that you stay where you are until the all-clear is given. In the meantime, notify police immediately if you have any additional information at all regarding this incident.” At press time, a black-clad group of 50 students were throwing bottles at the bench while chanting, “No Nazis, No KKK, No Fascist U.S.A!”

You forgot Pied Piper. At least five people (now that Eric Clanton has been ID'd) that were on the Antifa side on Saturday are Bay Area teachers.

Edit:

Yvette Felarca - social studies teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School (Berkeley)
Eric Clanton - philosophy & ethics teacher (:story:) at Diablo Valley College (Pleasant Hill)
Mark Airgood - special ed teacher (Oakland Unified School District)
Jamie Treacy - visual arts teacher at Skyline Senior High School (Oakland)

Fifth guy I was thinking of is Mike Wilson, but occupation is unconfirmed.

There is a Mike Wilson that's a teacher the West Contra Costa School District, but he's got no pic on his LinkedIn profile.

Oh, great, more teachers getting involved with a violent protest group.

Our education system is really fucked.
There have always been certain teachers who enjoy hanging out with their students. And nearly every one of them has been motivated by the time honored Greek tradition - anal sex.

I think the most disturbing thing about this is that this guy teaches Introduction to Philosophy and has had a background in teaching ethics and critical thinking. I don't know about you all but I don't want my Philosophy or Ethics classes to be taught by a guy who brutally assaults other people with weapons because he thinks he's right and the people who disagree with him are evil.

Dude is a sophist who would have executed Socrates. Thats as far as his philosophy extends.
