So what’s that, three non monster SHs that have a stake in reaching Laugh Tale now?

It is easier to least those who do not have to go to Laugh Tale to reach their dreams one way or another: Usopp (does not need Laugh Tale to become brave), Jimbe (he wants peaceful co-existence and that does not have anything to do with LT), Brook (he will meet Laboon anyway once he crosses the NW even if he does not go to LT) and Zoro (he can achieve his dream by beating Mihawk even without LT). Then, there are those that have to reach LT to achieve their dream in some way: Sanji (All Blue and LT seem to be related in some way) and Chopper (he seeks medical knowledge that might be located in LT). Then we have the members that NEED to go to LT to achieve their dreams: Luffy (wants the One Piece located there), Robin (wants to know the true history of the world and the most crucial parts are located in LT), Franky (needs Luffy to become the Pirate King using his ship) and Nami (she needs to map LT and the journey there to make a map of the world).

Something to note : During the Separation/Training arc most of the Crew did decide that aiding Luffy in his dream was something they felt was important to them, to the point where when Sanji and Zoro are about to go against King and Queen they bring up that if they win here then "Luffy's dream" is within reach.

The only real political material you can find is generic crap like “censorship is bad”, the only real overlying ideological divide is just “freedom vs tyranny” which can apply to any political slant or platform, and the World Government is like The Party in 1984 or the Galactic Empire in Star Wars in the sense that “the reason why there is resistance to this authoritarian government is not because of any position they take, but the extent they will go to in order to keep hold of absolute power”.


Again, MAYBE the Celestial Dragons is something that needs to be explored in terms of actual policies, but that’s endgame material and much of what they already are and do is just stuff to makes you want to see their shit get wrecked, and Oda delivers because not ready for Luffy to REALLY bring the hammer down yet.

I'd also say that it's so called politics is just your generic "We must alll get along together" anti hierachy and anti discrimination type messaging. In the modern mind these themes are not what one would think of as political because it has become like common sense. The last bit of your message is interesting because there is One Piece theory content such as Arthur/Library of Ohara, who emphasizes the story being that of fighting against discrimination and prejudice but again I think it is a result of the modern mind.

One thing I forgot to mention during my Rocks hype section ( all truthful statements btw ) was how much more similar Luffy is to him than Roger. This might seem outlandish at first but just hear me out :

- Rocks has no qualms about beating up annoying brats when they need some discipline, just like Luffy ( Rocks beating up Loki and Kaido , Luffy beating up Momonosuke and Atlas ).

- Rocks and Luffy can't be defeated by the "female charm " . Roger in the latest chapter felt more like a Sanji type character than a Luffy type character.

- Rocks declared war against the World Government, just like Luffy.

- Rocks only cared about one thing, accomplishing his dream of becoming the King of the world , just like Luffy is 100% focused on becoming King of the Pirates, everything else is secondary to that goal. Roger meanwhile spent like 20 years after God Valley doing absolutely nothing besides running away from Garp and goofing around , only after getting cancer did he finally decide to go on one final journey to reach the final island (Laugh Tale).

- One last thing that's probably going to trigger some people, Roger didn't really do anything to deserve being called the "Pirate King " . That's just a title the media gave him for reaching the final island. Remember this man begged on his knees for Whitebeard to let him borrow Oden, and he sneaked into Big Mom's territory to grab a copy of her Poneglyth without having the balls to face Linlin directly.

- Unlike Roger Luffy would never act in a such cowardly way to achieve his goal, the way he gets things done is much more similar to how Xebec does things, hell he even aura farms in the same way as Rocks did back in the day (think about everytime Luffy introduces himself, the man who going to become king of the pirates, it has the same aura as Xebec stating that he is going to become the King of the World in front of Harald ).

He reached a place that was hidden by the WG for centuries by being erased from history and assembled a ton of other things deemed dangerous enough to bring down the WG. He earned that title. As for begging, and? He was humble and requested a favor from someone he considered his brother. How is that a dig? Roger was loved by his crew, his rivals and even some enemies. Rocks' own crew would piss on his grave if they could care enough to visit it.

Luffy retreated on multiple occasions such as against Smoker, Kuma in Sabaoby, Mihawk in Marinefort and Big Mom in Totto Land. He earned the love of Boa Hancock by selflessly begging for her to free his friends even if it meant abandoning his goal and before that he begged Drum Kingdom to help Nami even after they shot Vivi.
