I had similar thoughts after reading it. Each protest theme seems to be progressively worse.
Without hyperbole, we were 2 of maybe 10 white people out of close to 500 people. Mostly spics, but also a tremendous amount of south east Asians. Bros, I watched a group of 50 men pray to mecca at a state park today, serenaded by short order cook music, and surrounded by egg shaped women and a quinceanera. None of this is exaggerated. We had to leave, we were shocked.
It's unfortunate because there are parks where people of various backgrounds hang out and keep chill without causing trouble for anyone else. Others, unfortunately, seem to attract sketchy folks or the agitators who want a confrontation that may or may not escalate to violence and catch innocent bystanders in the crossfire. This is a good reminder to be aware of your surroundings and trust your gut instincts if you get the felling you're better off leaving ASAP.
A LOT of people are still all in on masking. To this very day, in the year of our lord 2025, years after COVID was declared over and done with, I STILL see people either in stores with masks on or driving in their cars with the mask on.
Unless someone has COVID symptoms, the only reason I see for masks right now is for the areas dealing with thick air from the Canadian wildfire residue.

The UN is probably the #1 example of bureaucratic bloat and political impotence which has diminished its credibility over the years. I still chuckle when I think about the activists in Detroit contacting the UN in hopes the latter could somehow order an end to shutoffs for unpaid water bills because, "Water is a human right."
The gerrymandering shit is mega gay IMO, but I can't really think of a simple solution.
The Dems and their interest groups don't even like the solutions. A blue state saw the Dems get a ballot proposal passed that requires redistricting to now be done by an independent panel to minimize gerrymandering. When the committee came up with its first redistricting proposal, the Dems and the interest group couldn't file lawsuits fast enough because the efforts have groupings as close to 50-50 as possible diminished their stranglehold over certain areas that are sure victories for anything with (D) next to it.
Practical ideas and solutions aren't politically acceptable, and the politically acceptable ones aren't practical. Combine that with the back and forth from each party saying, "They do it too!" and it's a big mess that has no easy, immediate solution.
