I could no longer browse /tv/ when all the marvel capeshit started becoming overly popular and every other thread on the board was a general dedicated to a reddit-tier fandom.

Same. I’m older than the average /tv/ poster. I have very “boomer” tier tastes in movies. I got sick of my threads dying if they were about anything made before the 2000s or weren’t about capeshit. Only way I could occasionally get some activity is if I started off with a well known meme. For example, “me so horny, sucky sucky, $5!” or, “a nigger lives there.” Even then, I always had a feeling that a lot of those posters had never actually seen Full Metal Jacket or Taxi Driver and were just reacting to the most well known scenes. /tv/ is a complete waste of time if you don’t want to discuss capeshit, goon over the latest promoted celebrity or off topic shitpost.I could no longer browse /tv/ when all the marvel capeshit started becoming overly popular and every other thread on the board was a general dedicated to a reddit-tier fandom.
Isn't the /tv/ team manager for 4cc, the closest thing to a "representative" a board may have, some 60 year old polish furry? I guess that about says it all, huh?Same. I don't watch a lot of movies or browse /tv/ all that much, but I made a thread after watching gone with the wind to discuss older movies. Except for a few "frankly my dear i don't give a damn" it died 10 posts in. Although, to be fair, classic [thing] discussions are generally harder to do since they're already discussed to death.Same. Reddit mods and Jews.Is there a group more despised than 4chan moderators?
They flooded the board when some retard mod banned people posting yotsuba. They flooded the board when some retard mod banned NSFW berserk pages. The board sucks for a variety of reasons, but they were probably the best at shitting on new mods until they fucked off./a/nons are crying again that their super secret anime club hasn't been secret for about 15 years

On one hand, I fully understand the concern about the quality of the board going down. But on the other hand, spamming CP and gore won't magically fix everything and teleport you back to 2006.

Shit like /dbs/ and /wsj/ are problems, but it's not like you can blame the userbase for what it is. This only comes from jannies being complete shit./a/nons are crying again that their super secret anime club hasn't been secret for about 15 years

It's the fighting shadows part that gets me. You can't kill the desire to talk about popular shonen slop, but you especially can't kill the desire to shitpost. Any attempts to suppress it just makes it stronger.Shit like /dbs/ and /wsj/ are problems, but it's not like you can blame the userbase for what it is. You're not suddenly going to get back the old userbase by reminiscing like this.
Back when they were trying to force the cumbrain meme mods stomped down on it and it died pretty quickly. /mlp/ and a zero MLP policy outside /mlp/ worked well. Moderation can work, but they actually have to be consistent, quick, and communicate. It's the fighting shadows part that gets me. Why would you ban pepole from posting the website mascot? They flooded the board when some retard mod banned people posting yotsuba. That thread is anons talking about how everyone worth a damn migrated to forums, other imageboards, discord or twitter/a/nons are crying again that their super secret anime club hasn't been secret for about 15 years

You can't gatekeep if the moderation is non-compliant. That's the main problem and resembles our modern world; voting and screeching can only do so much if leaders keep importing infinite foreigners. Politicians hate the citizens and 4chan mods hate the anons. On one hand, I fully understand the concern about the quality of the board going down. Counterpoint: Gatekeeping is an bandaid on an infection. Like how you can't stop the march of time, you can't stop the evolution of public opinion. Things can go from laughing stocks to "peak fiction" in a matter of months. You can't gatekeep if the moderation is non-compliant. /a/ oldtroons are unbearable so I support everything going wrong for them. Nothing triggers one caught in the wild like telling them that /a/ is one of the worst boards on the site and nobody takes it seriously anymore. If they try to post some lame "old memes" or try to lecture you about being a le epic oldfag, you laugh at them and call them a retarded old troon that makes /pol/ users look intelligent and watch the fireworks./a/nons are crying again that their super secret anime club hasn't been secret for about 15 years

Almost forgot, you can also laugh at them for half their userbase being brown and not having English as their first language, just with their Dragon Ball and Naruto posters alone. That seems to hit harder than the former example. Either way, /a/ users are insufferable and deserve everything they get coming to them.Shit like /dbs/ and /wsj/ are problems, but it's not like you can blame the userbase for what it is. Why do they annoy you? I don't have experience with /a/ outside of /dbs/ leaking to other boards/a/ oldtroons are unbearable so I support everything going wrong for them. /a/ users are usually the most elitist old troons around, especially when they visit other boards. And then, you go to their board and it's just as much of a shitshow as any other while they still claim to be better because "their culture is superior" or "our board was made first, newfag!"Why do they annoy you? I don't have experience with /a/ outside of /dbs/ leaking to other boards
Not that guy but /a/ is just another board like /u/ or /c/. They all fantasize about loli girls/waifus and who they'd date. When I do visit there to see what everyone thinks about a new episode or manga chapter, it's short lived with under 80 replies, replaced by the same loli and yuri trash that they could have migrated to /u/ or /c/ for.Why do they annoy you?
