This image of Cody being dragged by Jake as Mike films and tells Jake to "stop" but not actually intervening says it all.

Is there a way we can give Mike and Heather to ISIS?
View attachment 212448
Not joking, I know we can't, but if we could arrange it, I'd love to see it happen.
Cody is crying after being assaulted and dragged by Jake, Jake continues to bully Cody, and Mike scolds Cody for "not being able to take a joke" then complains about his camera being out of focus instead of consoling Cody like a real father.

We need to recruit a stronger dad to fight DaddyOFive, and prove who is the superior dad.

I nominate this mysterious gentleman:

Jake goes into Cody's room, smashes his room up and ruins his lego structures.
Mike makes CODY clean it up and when Cody (rightfully) gets pissed, Mike says to the camera in a "can you believe this?" tone "it took 15 minutes to make."
Fuck you, you're a worthless piece of human garbage and I hope this leaves you and your oinker wife too poor to aford a box on a street corner.

No reason to apologize.
I've heard from a couple people Mike's ex wife (Cody's real mom) says Cody has some diagnosis.
I'm saying that I don't see it, and those are natural responses to a 9 year old being filmed and bullied 24/7 in your own home.
Would also like to point out a mental illness doesn't necessarily make one special needs.

Cody does have a mental illness that I think is fairly obvious, but that's not to say that his family would need to completely plan their lives around him, or that he needs any sort of special accommodations. Therapy would help him learn in cope, and he's shown he has started to learn in previous videos.

I think not smashing his xbox and ripping apart objects of sentimental value would be a good place to start, though.

He was born in 1982.

He's the same age as Chris-chan.
What is it about 1982 and producing lolcows?

That's Mike for you, only worrying about the finer things, like camera focus and YouTube Monies. Emotionally distressed kids? What are they?

But they get all those sweet likes and views, brah!

They need that sweet, sweet ad revenue! Otherwise Mike might have to get a job!

I can't even tell if he has special needs because of the situation he's in.
He says he "Can't focus in class cuz everyone is talking to [him]." That could be a disability thing or it could be friends/bullies who saw his YouTube videos. He freaks out when people mess with his shit, bully him, BEAT HIM UP, but he has no other course of action, it's not like his parents are gonna intervene.

From what I've seen in the videos, I believe it's an unnatural tick that's common in anxiety (like you don't intentionally want to make yourself bleed, rather you're anxious in class so you pick at your skin to relieve it and then end up bleeding).

And of course approaching that situation with yelling and scolding is the worst way to deal with it, since I don't imagine Cody understood why he did it either because he is 9.

Here's a good one. Jake goes into Cody's room to fuck with him.
Cody calls out for his dad for SIX MINUTES who's down the hall and is CHOOSING TO IGNORE HIS SON WHO IS CRYING OUT TO HIM.
Then when he DOES come in, he SCOLDS CODY FOR CRYING OUT.

The best part:
Cody starts writhing in pure agony and MIKE FUCKING LAUGHS AT HIS SON.
HIS SON IS HAVING A GOD DAMN MENTAL BREAKDOWN AND HE FUCKING LAUGHS AT HIM.

Fuck the unclit 2.0 pics, fuck Onision's underage underwear forum, THIS is the worst thing I've ever seen a lolcow do.

If the Maryland CPS doesn't consider this shit abuse, they need to raze it to the ground and start from scratch.

Did you get your PhD in child psychology from the Tumblr School of Self RX? Why do you think you're a better judge of this kid's mental condition than the professional who diagnosed him?

I'm not. I'm saying his situation is so fucked that based on the content of the videos I can't tell if he has additional special needs or not, because not that he doesn't have them or a diagnosis.
I'm not diagnosing him, I never did.
He's tormented by his whole family daily, of course he's gonna freak.
Does he have a pre existing diagnosis? Probably.
Would a kid without this diagnosis act similarly if put in Cody's shoes?
I think so.

Here's the video where Cody has a mental breakdown and Mike and Heather LAUGH AT HIM FOR IT

Jake has no concept of hearing the word "no" from somebody physically smaller and weaker than him and respecting their boundaries. Not going to be terribly surprised if we see "Oldest Child of DaddyoFive YouTube Channel Controversy Accused of RAPE" in the clickbait headlines a few years from now.
Yeah, I mean he already pins Cody to the ground, almost like he's practicing for the shit you're talking about.

I feel like you could also apply that to both Mike and Heather too. Seeing as they enable Jake to do this shit to his younger siblings (Cody and, to a lesser extent, Ryan, getting the brunt of it).

It's 100% Mike and Heather's fault Jake is such a little prick.
They encourage their kids to fight because fighting = YouTube clicks.
You can see how even when it's clearly Jake's fault and Cody gets yelled at for it (MAYBE Jake gets a weak "knock it off", but he usually doesn't stop or comes back later)
Doesn't help that they clearly have Jake as their favorite even though he's the worst stereotype of an adolescent millenial douche I've ever seen.
He fucking dabs in one video and says "triggered" in another.

I think so.

You haven't diagnosed him, you just keep saying you don't see any signs of his diagnosed disorder in any of the videos. Why does it matter if you think the videos aren't compelling evidence of ODD? You're just an internet bystander.

In all seriousness, it's super fucked up how there's literally no "right" response for this. How is he supposed to react when he's getting picked on if the options he has are both wrong in his parents' eyes?
He is trained to be helpless. 100% sure they neither know what exactly they are doing, nor what it means for him, but it is what he is learning. It's called "learned helplessness".

Let's get a small course in Psychology 101, shall we?
It was a little experiment, a guy called Seligman was doing with dogs.
765434567.jpg

Place a dogge in a cage, apply a shock to the floor, dogge will jump on the other half. Done.
But now, leash the dog to the side of the cage, so he cant jump. If he tries it, he only strangles himself, so he learns he cant do anything to avoid the shocks, gives up and crouches down. When you now remove the leash and apply shocks again, the dogge stays where he is, because in his mind he still thinks he cant do anything. wow

It's a basic back theory about the etiology of depression. But that's not all. At the same time, Cody doesnt "just" get a painful shock, but get's threatened emotionally, physically and verbally again and again and again. He is visibly emotionally overwhelmed. Thatswhy those situations trigger an alarm situation in the body that is usualy solved through the fight-and-flight system. Probably everyone heard about that: the body is pushing adrenaline through the veins so you can either fight the enemy or flee. The crux of the matter, if you are neither able to fight nor to flee, there is an overflow of adrenaline and cortisol in your body that sooner or later leads to a breakdown of that nervous system.

This is the point when posttraumatic stress disorder is developing, as the mind isnt even able to transfer the traumatic situation into coherent memory anymore (or more exact the part of the brain responsible for processing emotion - the amygdala - is not able to function properly anymore and collapses in its function), so the traumatic situation stays burned into the brain for hopefully being able to recognize such a situation earlier next time and maybe avoid it. Of course this worsens when the traumatic situations continously add up. It's also called "fight, flight or freeze" response, because as a result if youre not able to fight or flee, you freeze to the point of catatonia and are not even physically able to move anymore.

TL: DR im a psychological superbrain and I dont think cody lay down voluntarily, but simply collapsed.

here's Heather's ex's Facebook. (posted it a few days ago but now that he's actually relevant to the story, posting it again haha)

archive

EDIT: His Facebook still exists, just under a different name and username. I won't share it unless someone REALLY wants it (it's rather easy to find if you go to the archive lol) since I feel bad since he clearly wants nothing to do with the Internet drama. Fun facts.

My biggest hope for Cody and Emma is that if their mom can't get them back, that they can be placed with her sister or another relative. I know this thread has a lot of people wondering if she's even fit to take them back because of her bipolar, and also pointing out how awful the foster system can be, but at the very least, she and her family seem to care about then and want them to be safe and well. I think they try to place kids with relatives before anything else, anyway?
