There's certain dose of cruelty in fact that this abuse was not only merely public, but broadcasted to million of people. Like, I understand unfortunately that kids who suffer abuse will mostly hide the very fact that they are abused because various reasons, mostly shame and probably fear from abusers.

I mean, you feel shame for shits you did when you were stupid teenager, I wonder how many therapy these kids will need for shit that they weren't even guilty of.

They look so normal now with the light of hope on their faces, that's how kids should look.

They're still not out of the woods, though. Even if everything goes in their favor and they are no longer in custody of Mike and Heather (which I don't see being finalized for months), they're most likely still going to need some counseling/therapy for their emotional and physical scars, and that's going to take years.

I do hope things are looking up for them, however, and that their relationship with each other gets patched up. The other three are most likely too fucked up to do much about, but these two still have a chance. Until then, I'm looking forward to the chimpout, especially from Heather.

Yup, emergency custody. Mike apparently wasn't so cooperative and refused to give up their clothes and meds that they need (which isn't surprising) but they're at their mom's.
