Tesla doors are electronically operated unlike the typical mechanical door lock found in 99% of cars meaning that they can only be opened with a button press... If the cars 12V system fails the doors will not normally open. Inside there are emergency release switches near the door button for the front seat occupants but the back REQUIRES YOU TO REACH DOWN INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR, REMOVE A COVER, AND PULL A CORD. All of the emergency releases require reading the manual to know where they are. There is no way to open the door from the outside if the 12V battery system fails.
