Don't you need hands on experience or something
You do. There's some community colleges that also offer trades programs and hands on experience. Trade school is the preferred option imo, but there isn't one nearby in my area. I believef the local job corps has some sort of program, but obviously, it's only for those up to a certain age. Plus I heard really shitty things about the local job corps from a few friends who went there in the past.
There's a lot of gatekeeping in the trades. :(
That's usually what I warn some people about. It's really true for where I live. Even those who my age wind up in trades here leave the area because it's so gatekept locally. Doesn't hurt to try and attempt to get in.

Josh, I just passed my Net+ certification exam a few days ago. How are chuds like me going to fix the mess trannies have made of the Internet if you discourage us from going to IT?

There's no fixing it.

I remember this article about porn by a tranny that has the line "pornography is something you think you own but it owns you". He goes on to describe how it's a good thing ofc but I think this about computers.

I own a phone. I paid a lot of money for it. It is my possession that I hold in my hands.. But do I own it? It's operating system is basically an open source springboard for an entire family of proprietary Google spyware. Literally just millions of lines of code designed to learn everything about me so it can phone home to Google to be fed into an AI profile that borders on sentient but which only exists to compile advertising profiles. Why? To sell me shit. Shit made in China whose creation financially benefits my global economic rival. Why? Because that generates the most profit. The company only cares about profit. Why? Because that company exists to enrich Indian CEOs and get more Indians in the country so they can rape it.

So I don't own my phone. Does it own me? Well, ownership implies an involuntary relationship. Can I live without my phone? Can I navigate the country without a map? Can I buy things I need without the Internet? Can I pay my taxes without a computer? Not really, no. Circumventing these things involves living a life disconnected from all other living things. Even the Amish have websites now. Even the Amish sell their furniture on a website.

I really fucking despise computers and more than I despise computers I despise that I can't you opt out. I can't even find people who aren't on Instagram and Facebook anymore. The average person is so thoroughly owned by their phone. They just watch Tiktok and wait to die.

It’s how I understand it, and I am not well versed in the chemistry of it. I just use the things.
Laser cutters melt steel and then use a compressed air jet to cut through it. Plasma cutters similar. Oxyacetylene torches use the flame (which might be oxidising or not, but who cares) to melt the steel and then the compressed oxygen to do the cut.
Does it also cause some of the metal to burn? Sure, that’s why there’s a big shower of sparks, but the primary cutting action is the jet of gas.
I mean, this is how I understand it. I don't know a thing about that rust shit. That just doesn't make any sense "it turns it into rust" uh no, when you're talking to a lay person "steel gets hot, air blows it away" is much more succinct.
To pull permits you need a master license You won't be able to do your own jobs if you can't pull permits. It looks like you have to have 2k hours of work to take take the master exam.

That’s pretty severe. What rules do you have about DIYing electrics on your own property?
In washington, and don't quote me on this, you can pretty much wire your own house and you only have to have an electrician hook it up to the breaker box/main service line. It's what my buddy has done a few times.

While you're not incorrect. I dislike your pessimistic thinking.

@Null
If you and things you are holding are the only conductive things touching the board, you only need to attach yourself to chassis ground through the wrist strap.
Connecting to earth ground might actually make the static worse if there is low humidity (which is probably not an issue for you). Since charged dust in the air will seek earth ground.
If you plan on moving the unit then you'd want an earth ground, but chances are the chassis is already earth grounded, and it's not moving.
If you have a good rack it should share a common ground with the contacts on each MOBO's screw holes, or offer a connector per tray to put under one of the screws.

Random question but does anyone like Denny’s as much as Anus and Ian? As someone who likes breakfast food I’d rather go to a local breakfast restaurant

>Can I live without my phone?
It's very hard, but you can choose to get a flip-phone that you only use for bidness and then people will only call you if they absolutely need to. It's doable if you work for the government in one of those jobs that is very hard to get fired from, but if you work in the private sector it's very hard. Even if you use an Android and people use iPhone you're kinda peer-pressured into buying an iPhone to use their Message system.

>Can i navigate the country without a map
I mean, you could, but you would waste a lot of fuel because you would take wrong turns, you would have to stop and ask for directions etc.

>Can i buy the things i love without the internet
Yes, you can still go to stores and buy water, food, clothes etc

>Can i pay my taxes without a computer
You could hack the system like the jews during Shabbat and pay an accountant to use a computer for you. lol

I often think about going "off the grid" because i hate the fact everything is so "hyper". I hate that Charlie Kirk got shot and in 1 minute i have a video showing it, i hate that people can easily ruin my day with something shitty about work just by sending me a message - as if they couldn't wait even 1 day to tell me -, i hate that everything is so interwoven, interconnected and immediate. But, on the flipside, i fucking love video games and i don't know any other hobby that can be as cheap as games and provide as much fun. I'd have to take flight lessons or something like that to have "fun", but it's too expensive in comparison to vydia.

In the early Internet, we would print off the directions from mapquest. They had pretty good turn by turn directions. I hate having to rely on a live map. That shit gets me more confused than just reading a paper map. I only look up directions from the computer, memorize it -cause I know the area I'm travelling well enough and just go. I barely use OSM if I absolutely have to.

You have to get into the habit of buck breaking your electronics by inspecting and modifying the hardware to make them unable to do spooky shit.

You should only buy phones that you can flash with Graphene OS or one of the alternatives.
Even then, if Pinephone ever gets Graphene/Lineage support then you just go with them, since there are physical power switches in the phone to disable stuff you want off, like the radio and cameras.

GPS is gloriously recieve-only. So even with your transmitter conpletely cucked you can still use it.
OSM is a fantastic fully offline navigator, it's not perfect but it's 80% as good as google maps, which is enough for me.

For the car, buy the factory service manual, dig into the guts and unplug everything you don't like, and unplug and desolder the battery from the Data Communication Module. It's a bitch to get to, behind the instrument cluster, but it's entirely optional to the operation of your vehicle.

Never give up your fight, they want the terms of engagement to be choosing them or having nothing, you are under no obligation to choose either scenario.
The US has some of the best co sumer protection laws when it comes to screwing around with stuff you bought. Even down to the burden of proof lying on the manufacturer when trying to void your warranty due to modifications.

Just like keeping this site up, it's not against the law, so you can keep trying forever no matter what they do to try and trip you up.
Good skills with inspecting and modifying hardware (or connections to a trusted someone who does) is going to be a privacy must-have!

Is there any way to get an electrician license with a four year degree
If the degree is relevant to your trade it usually cuts the hours requirement by one or two years. If you search trades that use Programmable Logic Controllers (eg. Instrumentation Technician) you should get good results for things that your degree counts towards. Inst. Tech is clean work, not back-breaking. And if you focus on new builds, projects, and DCS systems (as opposed to SCADA) you won't be stuck in the perpetual loop of fixing the code that some jeet ruined with his latest software update.

Fuck you, I have to deal with fake concern trolling bullshit every day and have for the last 10+ years. It's not people being dickheads, it's extremely negative comments every time I make a tweet from accounts that follow me that are real accounts. "I LOVE YOU BRO BUT THAT'S A CHILD'S SIGNATURE", "PLEASE PRACTICE YOUR SIGNATURE NOBODY WILL TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY". I get offers from deeply concerned people offering to help me practice cursive like I'm in remedial classes.

No point complaining about it, people are just shitty animals. Fighting against human nature is a worthless endeavor. Just give the shitty animals what they want.
Just buy a stamp like the Japanese do, Moon probably has a cool rune associated with it.

If you where you live there's ghetto areas, these apps will try to kill you. You're going from point A to point B in California, Google Maps will try to make you go through Compton or some other shitty area.
