So I don't own my phone. Does it own me? Well, ownership implies an involuntary relationship. Can I live without my phone? Can I navigate the country without a map? Can I buy things I need without the Internet? Can I pay my taxes without a computer?
>Can I live without my phone?
It's very hard, but you can choose to get a flip-phone that you only use for bidness and then people will only call you if they absolutely need to. It's doable if you work for the government in one of those jobs that is very hard to get fired from, but if you work in the private sector it's very hard. Even if you use an Android and people use iPhone you're kinda peer-pressured into buying an iPhone to use their Message system.
>Can i navigate the country without a map
I mean, you could, but you would waste a lot of fuel because you would take wrong turns, you would have to stop and ask for directions etc.
>Can i buy the things i love without the internet
Yes, you can still go to stores and buy water, food, clothes etc
>Can i pay my taxes without a computer
You could hack the system like the jews during Shabbat and pay an accountant to use a computer for you. lol
I often think about going "off the grid" because i hate the fact everything is so "hyper". I hate that Charlie Kirk got shot and in 1 minute i have a video showing it, i hate that people can easily ruin my day with something shitty about work just by sending me a message - as if they couldn't wait even 1 day to tell me -, i hate that everything is so interwoven, interconnected and immediate. But, on the flipside, i fucking love video games and i don't know any other hobby that can be as cheap as games and provide as much fun. I'd have to take flight lessons or something like that to have "fun", but it's too expensive in comparison to vydia.
I really fucking despise computers and more than I despise computers I despise that I can't you opt out
