Another genius idea from Amy Pascal and Tom Rothman.
Amy Pascal we all know from being the driving force behind the feminist Ghostbusters remake (and forcing Ivan Reitman off of the project, taking away any say he might have had). And she's behind some other feminist superhero film using Spider Man characters. Last I heard, it featured Black Cat and someone else.
Tom Rothman being the genius behind X-Men 3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the Alien VS Predator movies, and saying no to a Deadpool movie for almost a decade. Among numerous other bad decisions he made while at Fox.
Why Sony Pictures decided to hire Rothman and keep Pascal is anyone's guess but I guess they like losing money.

Paramount and Sony are basically the "Good Idea, Bad Idea" of last place movie studios.
Paramount's a giant shitshow behind-the-scenes and their only major cash cow franchise is Transformers. But they aren't stupid enough to try and bask in negative publicity, their "Bankroll anything" ethos means that while we get Monster Trucks, they also put out riskier movies by auteurs like Arrival and Silence last year and new films by Darren Aronofsky and Alexander Payne this year, and they don't need another studio to intervene with their cash cow. Ergo, they're making lemonade out of lemons.
Sony's also a giant behind-the-scenes shitshow with only one major cash cow franchise, but they're pathetically trying to chase trends and be relevant with Fembusters and The Emoji Movie, Rothman has horrible relationships with more auteurist directors, they got hacked by North Korea and Marvel needed to step in and hold their hand with the new Spider-Man movie.
So, yeah. Sony Pictures are a sinking ship, and the internet's just standing on the shoreline laughing.

Not the typical Tony rant we've become use to, but I thought I'd test the waters and see if there's any good discussion and jokes to get out of this. I put it behind a spoiler in case you're just interested in his Trump salt and don't care about his other tantrums.

If y'all are interested, I have some screen caps of Tony getting into a little twitter spat with loophole572 about the movie if you want some potential laughs. In case you don't know who loophole572 is, he's a member of the Sons of Kojima (SOK), a Darksydephil troll group that is debatably filled with lolcows as well, depending on who you ask. The two aren't comparable, Tony. Not in the slightest. While Wreck-It Ralph is about video games, they come with the inherent benefit of having established characters and stories that are familiar and accessible to the audience, and it was written, produced, filmed, and had a cast of passionate, talented people who believed in the project. It was a labor of love and it shows, which is why it garnered the acclaim it did. The same goes for the LEGO Movie, which also had the benefit of building from an established foundation of previous video games and short films.
The Emoji movie is yet another soulless, cynical Hollywood cash grab with no heart or effort put in it. That's probably why Tony is defending it so Autistically; it reminds him of his own content.

Label it "politically incorrect" and claim that it's "damaging, hurtful, oppressive, and dehumanizing" in an effort to silence their voices. Make sure to inform everyone that it isn't attacking free speech because "the right to free speech isn't absolute and unrestricted". After all, you can't tell "fire" in a crowded theater, right?

Where people like him consistently go wrong about free speech is that they believe saying bad and hateful things is JUST as harmful to the life and limb of people as yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre.
Some try and make a tenuious connection between shouting ethnic slurs and actual physical harm for example, as you may be inciting someone else to inflict violence, but increasingly, they don't even try to prove even that.
Unprogressive ideas are dangerous mob empowwring hate speech, full stop.
Free speech to them means saying nice things, or only calling out obviously evil hate speech, which is anything THEY wouldn't say.
Their good intentions whenever they open thier mouth is self obvious. Just as it's obvious that any disagreeing with them is step one to inciting a lynch mob and must be banned as dangerous.
The hypocrisy being that the left has the far worse record in recent history over inciting public violence based on self righteous personal politics, not the great racist hordes they claim to be standing against who are LITERALY building death camps....even as we speak.

Any way you slice it, it's every bit as childish, re.tarded, and out of touch with reality as Chris saying "I'm done adulting. I just want to be pony." Their good intentions are more damning and damaging than someone using racial slurs because it infringes on personal liberty and imposes forced control on others. It also forces an atmosphere of overprotective coddling which restricts personal growth and healthy coping skills that adults need to successfully navigate the real world, essentially telling others that they are children who can deal with hurtful words and need to be protected from them.
Am I saying everyone needs to call minorities racial slurs? No, because being an adult also means showing respect to others. But it's essentially reinforcing the asinine notion that certain words are actually damaging and that certain people are delicate children who need protection from them and imposes thought control. It also surreptitiously elevates these Leftards to a platform of smug, sanctimonious superiority. "Oh you poor little lamb, you just don't know how vulnerable you are. You don't realize how harmful certain words are, so it's a good thing you've got someone as intelligent and enlightened as myself here to give you an education. Don't worry. Never fear. I am here to shield you from those nasty hurtful words." On the other hand it imposes superiority over people who use words deemed politically incorrect. "You ignorant, bigoted hick! Don't you realize the damage your hateful, dehumanizing words cause? No, of course you don't, because you're not educated and enlightened like I am! And as you succinctly pointed out, when they are no longer able to enact control over others through their rhetoric and ideology, that's when they become violent. The same kind of violence they claimed for years to be above. The same kind of violence they for years insisted that their political opponents use to force control and intimidate. But it's OK that THEY'RE now using violence, because their political opponents are LITERALLY NAZIS and that's how we deal with Nazis! So they now use hateful, intolerant, dehumanizing rhetoric to justify their violence and manipulate people's impressions of their political opponents. They've become the very violent, intolerant, oppressive people they preached against for years, using the same kinds of tactics, but it's OK that they're doing it because they're on the right side of history.
