TGWTG Tony Goldmark / "Some Jerk with A Camera" - Some Jerk with a Trust Fund

Guess he didn't check his white cis male privilege. He just doesn't understand that these kinds of people never except apologies, and they do not hear out opinions and ideas other than the ones inside their own hugbox. He's like a mistreated dog that keeps going back to its abusive master for more beatings.

Please, lord, send a meteor to cleanse the earth of all three of chucklefucks. Right now.

It's priceless watching this guy being subjected to the Room 101 treatment in real time. He seems to have no concept that he is wholly expendable to the junior trans-fascists who are one step away from completely un-personing him.

I always really bristled at this "you objectively don't get an opinion on X issue" philosophy. This is common in the social justice scene and especially common among troons. Sorry, but you do in fact get an opinion on anything you want. That's a basic human right. Can you argue opinions are poorly-informed if you don't actually participate or have exposure to something? Absolutely. But everyone, even assholes like Tony, have the right to believe and say what they want.

The other social justice axiom in full force here is the belief marginalized groups don't have to adhere to basic rules of human decency. A troon can be as abrasive, opinionated, bigoted, and venomous as he wants but if you call him on it then you're the prick.

It's easy to laugh at this stuff because of the people it comes from (especially the exceptional individuals on display in these forums), but it's actually pretty fucking scary. Tony Goldmark is a dork with self-control problems and a fucked worldview, but yeah, he has an absolute right to make whatever jokes he wants about whatever group he wants no matter how tasteless it is. Mr. "Pissed Off Arsehole" would, I have no doubt if his actions match his rhetoric (something you can't rely on; everyone's a bigmouth online), club Tony in the head with a brick to shut him up.

The funny (and sad) part is that Tony doesn't realize it -- that because these people are obviously not Trump voters, well, they must be worth engaging with on some level.

Trans-Fascists. That's a good one.

I'm really torn on this one, guys. On one hand, it's absolutely delicious to see Tony get taken to the wood shed after giving his mouth a hefty case of Athlete's Foot. And seeing his ego on full display with all flags and banners hoisted is pretty entertaining. Most people who aren't complete douche-leavings upon being told "Hey, that joke you told is offensive to some people. Could you please try to work on being more sensitive?" would reply "I'm terribly sorry that I offended you. It wasn't my intention to hurt anyone and I'll do my best to watch what I joke about from now on". But Tony feels he's been attacked, and attacked on something very important to him; his sense of humor. Instead of acting like a decent human being, humbling himself and apologizing, his wounded ego has locked him into full-goose DEFCON 1 defensive mode, justifying his position with talk of "context" and "opinions". When that failed to gain traction he then attempts a half-hearted dose of tone-deaf back pedaling.

But on the other hand, there's these overly sensitive, easily butthurt, self-important troons trying to suppress his freedom of speech and expression, and insisting his opinion isn't valid. These kind of people make me sick. All this smug, sanctimonious "feels before reals, you've got no right to your opinions, your rights/voice ends where my feelings begin" self-absorbed identity politics bullshit is toxic and harmful to personal liberty. So it's really awkward for me to want to defend Tony.

tl; dr: I've got the weirdest schadenfreude boner and don't know what to do with it.

Seeing a guy who is only funny unintentionally argue what comedy is, however, was pretty great.

Nah the real response to people getting mad at you for a joke (especially on the internet) is "too bad" or if you're generous "fair enough". Especially when the person tut-tutting at you has no personal reason to be offended and is just policing what you say. Kowtowing like you suggest should be reserved for when you really cross the line, liking making a suicide joke around someone whose loved one offed themselves.

A truly conscientious person doesn't make faggot jokes in polite company in the first place.

Iirc, this is the joke Tony was referencing that got him in so much trouble with these trans people the past two days. It was from the Daily Show's twitter account.

Trans people and other far left progressives have been losing their minds over this tweet since it was posted on Wednesday. I can't believe I'm saying, but I've got to side with Tony on this one. This is just a dumb, unfunny joke that was probably written by an office temp who runs the twitter account, not Trevor Noah. I find this whole situation eerily similar to when Suey Park and her cronies got that stupid hashtag #CancelCobert trending because the the person running the Colbert Report twitter referenced an Asian Joke that Stephen made on his show.

I just don't see how this stupid joke is malicious and offensive in anyway. Is it because it's Donald Trump becoming trans, and Donald Trump is the devil to these people? Either I'm a fucking monster who doesn't see the harm in this, or these people need to grow some thicker skin and get a sense of humor.

Because even referencing transgenderism in a semi-joking way is enough to get trans people and "allies" to reeeee at you with the force of a thousand dying suns. IIRC, back when people flipped their shit about Zoolander 2's trans joke, there was one humorless shrew ally in my class who said that any jokes made about transgender people was "hurftul" and "minimizing" to the movement, because apparently transgender people are too stupid, sensitive and/or superior to cishet scum that they're above joking about. I really wish she'd read the Brianna Wu thread in order to challenge this belief.
