Continuing on the search of the "Izzy Torres" alias I find his Instagram, which confirms a tie to his BlueSky account, his marriage to Thurston Howl, and his association with "OhMurr" magazine. It also has an extensive collection of furry dildos which he seemingly created by hand and sold for a time via his Etsy store linked below.

Searching Lansing property records for Howl's legal name yields one record of a property sold around that date at 3301 Jerree St, Lansing MI 48911. A "Larry Patterson" is also listed on the property with Jonathan.

I then searched for a marriage record which reveals that Jonathan was married to "Larry Stephen Patterson Jr" around February 19th of 2021. Izzy aka Larry helpfully corroborates this on his BlueSky account with a date and recycling the Instagram wedding picture as well.

"Populist" being used as a pejorative comes purely from the leftist belief that the common man doesn't know well enough to govern himself and needs an enlightened elite to guide him.

Also, populism is blamed for Hitler rising to power, totally ignoring that the people of Germany had many reasons not to favour his opposition, so any politician who appeals to the common citizen is "Hitler-like", according to the enlightened minds of the left.

Populism in the modern pejorative sense means tyranny of the majority. Or to put it another way, uneducated masses being too stupid to understand they're voting for empty promises and enabling a future tyrant. Curiously, it still means democracy so if they oppose populism then they also oppose democracy.

You're not wrong per se. But one of the enduring strength of marxism/communism and related ideologies are their skill in redefining the meaning of language and using that to restrain and shape peoples thought without them even realising it.


You're at least 30 years late if you think it's pejorative use in politics is recent.

For as far as I can remember 'populist' had been used as a pejorative to dismiss any political idea from the right that gain traction among the electorate while going too far beyond the overton window. Anything related to immigration and assimilation of immigrants are prime examples.

Basically, populism (as it's actually used by the journalism caste etc) means: Ideas and policies from the right which are popular, despite being outside of what your betters had decided are the ideological boundaries allowed to explore by a token rightwing opposition. Thus, you should disregard them without first considering their merit.

IIRC Bluesky gives out checks, but organizations can also register with Bluesky and give out checks to employees/company accounts. I'm assuming that's what the government did.

Well the other thing is you can’t rush change.

For me, as a kid, I was not bothered about gays or gay marriage (civil). If they’re adults and they consent, sure, let them be each other’s next of kin under the law. I don’t care.

Old people like my grandparents didn’t see it that way, though. When her generation died off we got civil gay marriage: they can inherit from each other easily, make healthcare decisions whatever like regular spouses.
