I feel Talk To Staff is a bit too stuffy for some people feeling comfortable asking small or simple questions to moderators, and I also believe there could be some more levity between staff and users.

Try to avoid using this to interrogate about moderation decisions, like "Why was I banned?" since that's something that genuinely should be handled in Talk To Staff. Threads posted there will be treated with more urgency and seriousness. Generally.

Use this thread to ask us questions, serious or not, and we'll answer them accordingly to whimsy.

What would be your most fun thread to be around, and what’s your personal worst thread to be around?

Which janny highlighted the anime feet thread?

Please name so we can shame
Only moderation actions logged is by @Trombonista.

Do stickers affect your judgement? are mods allowed to put users on block? Are there any users that put fear in your heart when they appear in a thread you're jannying?
Sticker score and the stickers on a post are a decent means of determining how the community receives a user. Mods are allowed to block users. As for troublesome users, no, there's none I particularly dislike seeing in a thread.

@0 0 do you think any other mods will answer questions in this thread?
@Useful_Mistake might. I'm sure mods will come and go to drop some answers.

Which threads or subjects are your least favorite to moderate?
VTuber threads are annoying, and pretty much anything from the gender war drama in Beauty Parlor. Vtuber threads I have a difficult time even determining what I'm meant to be reading. The gender war threads, however, always result on somebody complaining about being treated unfairly. I try not to touch them.

If you had to bring one person with the former staff tag back into the roster, who would it be?
I can't say. I've only ever disliked ex-staff members or had no strong opinions of their abilities as a moderator.

I like the US politics thread and any picture threads. As mentioned earlier, I don't care for Vtuber or gender war threads.

I sort of perceive it like Harambe posting or something. The joke is that it's posted over and over. I don't think it's funny nor will I ever, but it's not really annoying either because it doesn't affect me at all.
If I had a dollar for every time I saw somebody foam at the mouth over something inconsequential I wouldn't be broke.
Personal bitching aside, what kind of salad do you like?

Is there an informal sense of prestige among non-global mods over which subsections they moderate, do some come with more cachet than others?

I don't care too much about the first impression people have of moderators. I'm aware it's generally negative. I try to navigate things cautiously when speaking to users because I know there's an assumption of discipline or ill intent when a moderator speaks to a user.
Rel, the only times when a moderator cared about me were times when I was getting banned but it was on other forums.
I would love to, but I don't have arms.
How are you moderating kiwi farms then?

My question is what personality traits are important in a moderator? What did you do right in order to become a moderator?

Why some people are global moderators and some are not?

I prefer chicken caesar salad.

No, not really. There isn't any hierarchy between moderators beyond the actual systemic hierarchy. If a moderator wants something done in a forum they don't moderate, they just ask.

I don't believe there's any idealized personality traits, although you most likely will be picked just due to being more active compared to other users.

Global moderators are picked mostly through convenience, as far as I can tell. No moderator really asked to be a global moderator, it's just something that's handed to them once they moderate more and more boards.

Waheeey, levity.

Do people often complain about me? I get the feeling I rustle jimmies sometimes.
give me a question
Moderator Derangement Syndrome is something I see pop up quite often, especially in regards to AnH and especially especially anything hohol/vatnik related, do you get people trying to fuck with you much or is it just impotent seething?

I mean, not anymore. Lidl once tried to start shit because I told her to stop going into threads she didn't like just to get mad and report everyone, but she ragequit and doesn't post anymore after Josh said 1 (one) mean thing about women that he walked back.

Oh, and I guess one vatnik also tried mass reporting everything once because he was mad at me asking his friend to link stuff if he posts a screencap (long story having to due with articles that didn't really exist). I think we're more or less cool now.

Oh, and I think Sharty people hate me. I don't like them either.
What is your answer to each question that was asked which was not specifically tailored to 0 0? (I believe that would be all of them)
He answered a lot of questions. Pick your favorites.

There is a moderator-only thread were we talk about private matters, so yes, generally.
is the janny thread like crabshack but for jannies (worse) that doesnt autodelete itself or more serious/open?

how much time do you have to spend dealing with people who for whatever inexplicable reason decide forum super cereal business and they must DM/TTS endlessly with the mods
