I just found this thread and whoa mama, this woman is a trip and a half. This seems to have become a great thread after a rocky start.

Not sure it's been mentioned, but her alma mater - Capella Univsersity - is kind of bullshit. It's a for-profit school and has national accreditation, so it's not a degree mill per se, but most reputable schools also have regional accreditation. Basically, if you pay (and boy do you pay) and do the work, you will get your degree. They are not considered academically rigorous.

Also, psychics are basically money sinks for crazy people. Where does this broad get her money? She must have had a lot before even starting her grift career.

Edit to add: the "twin flames" thing is 100% a cult, she's either part of it or believes it whole hog. I can't find a thread about when searching the site for thread titles but one must exist. If it doesn't, it's ripe for the picking.

Edit 2: Twin Flames is discussed in the Cult Megathread and is worth a read. It's ridiculous shit that basically believes psychics can identify your soul mate, you should do ANYTHING to be with that person, and punishes people for not pursuing that relationship at all costs.

100-200 pages for a psychology dissertation is not unheard of. Scientific dissertations are even shorter. Humanities dissertations usually go on forever.

The dedication at the beginning is fucking weird. Again, it's not unheard of for a dissertation to have a dedication section, but it's usually a few sentences to a paragraph. Five paragraphs is long. Dedicating your dissertation to "the kittens," then to a psychic, and then to people you hate is eye-popping. It's not necessarily against the rules, but it's definitely weird and pretty unprofessional. There are a lot of crutch phrases, instances of passive voice, and a few other standard academic writing foibles that are common. She says one researcher inspired another without providing evidence of it, which is a no-no that most professors would flag.

One quote from a research subject did make me laugh:
I definitely had that bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, pencil skirts and heels everyday view of
what an office was going to be like. It was like all cute notebooks and crushing meetings
and going out for Starbucks. I learned really quickly it was like, it's more like The Office
television show meets WWE wrestling.

I was honestly expecting the dissertation itself to be more insane, but it's pretty normal for a social science research paper (the bar is low there). Granted, I largely skimmed.
