Just about every retail outlet I've ever worked at has drilled it into employees to NOT interfere with a shoplifter; you are not AP, you are not armed, you could be seriously hurt, and if you hurt them they have a case to sue the store. Merchandise is insured up to a certain amount and it's just easier to let the shoplifters steal and run, because eventually they will steal enough to be charged with a felony.

It's so unsatisfying to have to lay back and take it, though, especially when the same bosses that tell you not to stop it will scold you and not pay your bonus if the store has a certain amount of shrink. I feel like if every cashier was trained and armed and was given free reign to shoot whoever they want, theft would go way down.

If nothing else, you'd step in to protect yourself and your job. Say these thefts keep happening, nobody would want to work there and the business will just close shop because it's too expensive to upkeep.

There's a commercial on Amazon Live, a "black entrepreneur" fixing a squeaky chair wheel, that is just screaming for THE CHIRP at the end. That commercial is seriously fucking up my old school Price is Right binging.

It's not that I'm myself a lazy nigger about nigposting. I just don't feel like I should spend any more time than maybe 90 seconds in mspaint to do so. Maybe I'm just too old school internet to embrace it? Maybe I just don't feel like spending more than 90 seconds on nigger shitposting? I don't know. I certainly enjoy a good nigpost, I just don't want to invest much time to make them. There's only 24 hours in a day, and time is the fire in which we all burn. I keep asking myself "Do I really want to spend the time to learn to use AI effectively when my only current use-case is shitposting about lolcows and niggers?"
I've become a digital crotchety old man, but I've made my peace with it.
