Oh, yeah, Thunderfoot... I don't know, maybe it's my own bias in favor of debunking and scientific stuff, but his videos where he stick to those specific topics, I don't mind so much (like when he debunked the "powdered alchool" stuff that Lacy Green was blabbering about, or the crowdfunding for those stupid solar-powered, LED-illuminated streets). But I never could get past his political or Gamergate sperging. In some ways he reminds me of Black Science Man, only white, less charismatic and much less accomplished: he loves to spew semi-scientific platitudes over Twitter as if he was dispensing great scientific wisdom.

Oh, yeah, Thunderfoot... that's what gets me about this guy. he *could* have a perfectly fine non-cancerous YT channel where he debunks garbage, fake science scams, but instead he became a gg sperg and now he just spouts out about politics. to be fair though it's probably mostly a matter of his audience caring more about the clickbait low-hanging politics bullshit that pushed him to push out that kind of content, in which case fuck him because he's neglecting a respectable career as a scientist to become a dipshit youtuber instead.

i wouldn't be surprised if his science career is getting into tenuous territory given his mediocre publication record and his age. i wouldn't be surprised if he's had a plan for a few years now to try and make the YT stuff a full-time gig. the biggest reason he can't is because the scientist meme is part of his legitimacy---it's what keeps him from being in the eyes of his fans just another anti-sjw shitlord.

my official prediction is that within the next two years he will set up a paymetons and his employment status at his current university will change for the worse. i'm willing to be wrong but that's my prediction.

I think the biggest problem is the fact that he aimed the critique of the stream at Sargon. I listened to the stream on release, and a fair chunk is just Sargon saying he'd rather the stream not be a thing and Vee being the dumbass he usually is. It's the run of the mill BS people on the other side of the spectrum use when moral outrage over something in the youtube politics comes to light of "oh there's a stream with a bunch of dumbasses, I can now use clips to incriminate the particular dumbass I hate by virtue of the video's theme".

Edit: Honestly, if they'd just boot Vee they might get somewhere. He doesn't have comparable qualifications in a circle that already has outrageously low standards.

To be fair, Thunderfoot is the one being an unrepentant faggot about this whole thing trying to knock people down a peg for some dark humor.
