I was saying that Chris thinks that, if you're not black, you're white. So he would be associating all groups that aren't black with white.
Oh, I know get what you're saying, its just that I was just pointing out that American society has tended to do the exact opposite. People who aren't considered "white" tend to get lumped together with "blacks," or overshadowed by the black population when discussing race in this country. I've seen Americans call everyone from Sitting Bull to Muhammad to Gandhi "black," the latter of which is especially funny considering that Gandhi wrote some rather unflattering things about South African blacks...
Anyway, Chris seems to do the opposite, probably as you said because he can't really differentiate people. I do think that his lack of real world experience probably plays a part too though. Again, he thinks he's Cherokee, so for him all Cherokee (maybe all Indians) are expected to look like him. He may or may not have any Cherokee ancestry, but if he does odds are he's below the blood quantum necessary to enroll (I believe it's only 1/16th for the Eastern Band of Cherokee) or he doesn't have an ancestor on any of the rolls. Also, if he is Cherokee, he wouldn't have a Clan either, since that's inherited from your mother's side.
Either way, he can't fathom the fact that he might not be a "special snowflake," and that even if he is part Indian, he's obviously mostly white. I think he'd be surprised to meet a full blood Indian, as he wouldn't expect them to have dark skin. Ditto for Asian people and Latinos (many of whom do have American Indian blood, but also sometimes African heritage as well; just look at parts of Cuba, Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Honduras, El Salvador, Venezuela, etc). That's why I'm actually very curious to see Chris' opinions of South Asians too.
Chris can't notice anything subtle, like facial characteristics. It's like how he also doesn't notice subtle differences between the sexes.
Didn't he mention needing to study his own face in the mirror to know what he looked like? Obviously that comes from his atismu, but still interesting.
He doesn't notice that women's bodies have wider hips than men, or things like that. The best he can do is: boobs? check. no dick? check. it's a woman. (heh, and if you have boobs, but still have a dick, you're a woman-in-training, like Bailey Jay from the mailbag emails)
His own artwork would seem to bear that out. Notice how Lovely Weather, Chris' ideal woman, looks for all the world like a tranny.
I think that the best Chris can do is skin tone, and when you get dark enough, you set off Chris black person alarm.
Best summary ever.
