AI Derangement Syndrome / Anti-AI artists / Pro-AI technocultists / AI "debate" communities - The Natural Retardation in the Artificial Intelligence communities

I am interested in using AI to build a tool to auto flag illegal content. I believe this can be trivially achieved using last gen cards and open source models.
That's a really good idea. Do we have any AI bros super deep into this shit and know the hw really well?

Any high IQ AI spergs ITT who play around with fancy AI hardware, Jewsh might need your help.

Deepfake for one.
If Visa and Mastercard get even a whiff of the notion that you're running a site that allows people to generate deepfakes, you're gone. That's exactly what prompted CivitAI's crazy credit changes, and other providers definitely took note. You're going to have to make a local setup if you want to do that sort of thing.

Exactly, and no normie knows how to do that nor wants to learn.

It's next to impossible to find a good ai service that just...works. And is free. They all require you to make an account, piss away 20 dollars a month, always have a retarded credit system so you always barely don't have enough to make your stupid meme.
Most companies providing these services don't benefit from free users. Each generation takes a certain amount of compute on specialized hardware, which adds $$ to the company's cloud infrastructure bill. It is in no way in their interest to let you run up their bill without an account or subscription. The only reason they even offer free generations is to get you addicted enough to pay up. Some of the bigger players like OpenAI might want your outputs for training new models and/or have enough VC funding and sweet deals with Amazon/Microsoft to subsidize free users, but not everyone's doing this.

Nano Banana Pro, released today by Google (archive), is explicitly targeted at professionals. There are enough professionals and companies that are willing to pay to use these things that I just don't think that "normies will get frustrated about not being able to effortlessly make deepfakes for free" matters to the ongoing viability of the tech, especially when those normies are a net drain on resources.

the best part? The best part is that corporate America WON'T adopt it for multiple reasons: it costs money, it logs EVERYTHING, there are privacy concerns for the fintech and medtech industries. So the corporate support jobs like HR? automated, Coding, monitoring, incident response and other things? Just another tool the autists will have to work with.
They can't just buy a video card as a one-time cost and then control every aspect of it internally for free?

It turns out, unlike expected, the tech revolution is not going to put all of those yucky blue collar low wage workers, who are all under default suspicion of being conservative, out of a job anytime soon. Which would have been a good, even great thing.
It is not really too unexpected that AI is doing more art work than crapwork: to get the latter would require making a lot of robots, while the former merely needs the 'net.

I figured this fit here better than elsewhere as it's AI meltdowns but recently or I guess a few months ago (twiggers are still melting down about it and I've had enough) the game developer and series creator of Touhou project Zun has been getting as much flak as a plane over Berlin because he used AI to generate backgrounds for "spell cards". Touhou is a bullet hell and when a spell card is activated the background changes and the character in question does an attack. They don't last forever and are semi-transparent. This "drama" started 7 months ago and is still going. What started it? This image: 1763814259980.webp
Afterwards the Steam page said it included ai generated content and it went to shit from there. Now Touhou is a good series but like many Japanese series it is infested with leftists and troons in the west and leftists and troons HATE AI so every other day these people that don't even play the games go on twitter and bitch non stop about how the creator betrayed "artist kind" when he does more actual art, both digital and physical than these people ever have. Not to mention he's known for being casual about game development and used to use stock photos for the spell cards. So thats fine but as soon as he uses another easy/lazy way to make things esier on himself while making a game they melt down and start threatening to dox and "ruin" him for his betrayal.

I would like to compare two pieces of art.

The "morally right" ""artists"":

The evil AI using series creator:

I will add that a majority of the people complaining about AI are either, well, shitty drawers or fetish artists, and while the 2 very much overlap to the point where its one circle from afar, there are ones on the edge that are actually talented. Especially on DA it seems: people destroy their entire gallery in "protest" to DA, when I guess it also could be an convenient way to run back into their hugboxes. Even a few furry artists are running for the grounds, primarily since there was a recent video ad showcasing this furry AI artist making more money than they ever had, and then basically snapped.

Trust me when I say these people want all the attention and all the money to themselves, and once AI became popular and powerful enough to threaten them, they suddenly realize they couldn't win against an emotionless creator machine so they pulled out every stop they can think of but can't admit that they are fucking pussies who just want money because they're greedy.
I said this in another thread most likely but social media created the type of people you see now. They think A.I is a threat to their cushy patreon money but it is also that A.I gets more attention because it's something new peolpe are playing around with and love playing around with it. A lot of the artists I see whine about either the illusion this will steal their money or how it ruins their social media engagement because the fallacy they think is they spent 5 hours drawing Tifa in a sexy post half naked while johnny slams his hands on his keyboard and can generate the same content to create 10 of that same image. This is how they think A.I creates things which is clearly not true as many already pointed out but what this boils down to (at least how I see it) is the art people thinking they're failing the popularity contest as artists now that A.I is available for the common person who doesn't need artistic ability just the imagination, system requirements and understanding to create something using A.I.
Also, are there any farmers who changed sides here? Something like "i used to like ai but not anymore" or "i used to hate ai gen but o love them now wtf"
Artist here but never took it seriously. Since I grew up watching these things evolve I viewed it as Digital art and CG art it's a cool jump in technology that will add to how we make and perceive art but won't detract from how we used to make it. Not really on an anti or "ai bro" side I play around with it because it is kind of fun to see the many ways it works even if the results come out like trash most of the time.

Slapping a "Made by AI/contains AI content" on Steam is so arbitrary. Ok, you made one small asset with AI that a player would barely notice. If you didn't disclose it, would anyone even notice? Does it ultimately have any sort of material effect on your gaming experience other than for the rabid anti-AI cadre? Do they require AAA devs who no doubt use AI to code to use the label? You wouldn't require someone to slap a "Made by Photoshop" label onto something. It's just silly and something I can see going away as AI becomes more and more ubiquitous.

Unless it is obvious that you are using AI, you should not check that box. My 2 cents.

I think don't think disclosing that you used AI is a huge deal. The moaning and bitching reminds me of what the leftists have been doing this past decade when it came to sexy stuff and not enough diversity. It was an unbelievably loud minority that managed to exert a lot of control, but in terms of sales, I can't think of an actual example where leftists managed to boycott something successfully. And now with AI, I also believe normal people are easily capable to discern if AI was used to make a good game or to create some slop to make a quick buck. And you are probably right that minute things would go unnoticed, but I think it's better to be upfront about this.

I think their should be a "made with AI" watermark or something.
Just today I was visiting my dad and he started laughing, it was a video of extremely large fat man diving off the highest diving board and overflowing the pool. Now to me it was clearly AI but my dad bless his heart believed it was real, I told him it was AI and he seemed disappointed, said it "took all the fun out of it"
It made me feel bad because he's gonna second guess his daily funnies now. Fuck AI for disappointing my dad he's a good guy

I mean, bad actors are going to leave out the watermark, so having one isn't particularly useful.
