Fallout series

I really liked Ulysses' concept of "he is the main character of the prequel to NV" and having everything he worked for being destroyed, accidentally, by the new hot Courier on the block.

I also really liked walking through crumbling highways and windows of toppled buildings. It's not the best DLC but it's certainly my favorite.

The skeletons in the suits scared the shit out of me when I was young, I never truly understood how the fuck were they even supposed to work.
According to one of research terminals they were combat suits designed to assist wounded soldiers.

Basically if you became too wounded to fight the cybernetics would hijack your bodies systems to walk you back to a safe zone but like virtually everything else the Think Tank fucked it up and the suit couldn't detect whether the subject was still alive or not.

Ulysses: HOW COULD YOU, YOU MONSTER

Lol STFU you stupid nigger.

Protip: The White Glove Society Attire is a special disguise in that not only does it set your reputation with the WGS to neutral, as you'd expect, but it also sets your rep with all disguise-wearing factions to neutral. If you know when Ulysses is about to blather at you, you can put the WGS disguise on and he thinks you have no faction allegiance, which causes him to sperg about bear bull slightly less. It's like the difference between jumping off the 30th floor of a building and the 31st but it's less dialog to mash through.

It's also a good way to get the Independent version of the Courier Duster if you want it. Just make sure you're wearing it before you walk into the final room where Ulysses is.

Bruh I've played through NV probably a dozen times and didn't know that.

Man it's so sad we'll probably never get a game like this again.

Am i'm the only who see near any charisma-based perk in New Vegas is worthless as fuck?
Animal Friend is fucking niche. What's the point to befriend Nightstalkers when Deathclaws and Cazadores still rape yout ass?

Charisma is only worthwhile in Fallout 2 and 4.

Yeah, you need 6 to get Local Leader, whereas 3 and NV have no reason at all to be above 1.
Still I see very little reason for you to ever dump Charisma unless you min max every single playthrough, which I find to be gay. The games are easy enough to where picking Charisma isn't a bad idea. I'd just go by what the character should have, not what is "best" for the gameplay. If I'm making a conman and he has 1 charisma just because I can min max skills that honestly aren't even respective to his character like say repair so I can pick up Jury Rigging later than it just doesn't compute to me, regardless of whether charisma has a low/nonexistent effect on the respective skills. In a perfect game each special stat would have a reason to never ever be dumped but I digress.

Was that not the entire point of his character? That he's so mind broken by things out of his control and so eternally staring at the past that he quite literally has "Old World Blues"? That when you finally reach him he's not all that he's cracked up to be, because quite frankly, who would? Could you not make this same argument for Elijah, or Mobius, or hell even Graham? Now that I think about was that not the point of every single major DLC character?

There's a mod which changes some speech checks to charisma but i always use party time mentats for that.
And there's another mod which makes every sexual perk to have 4 CHR as a req, which is ok for having some CHR to seduce characters.

In my actual playthrought, i dumped END. But the same mod doesn't scale your health by that, which is way better.

There's actually a hidden modifier called "nerve" that directly scales with your Charisma and impacts how much damage followers do but I doubt 10 Charisma is as impactful as just putting them in riot gear and giving them an anti material rifle.

Hardcore more kills them. Mainly with the Cazadores poison.
At least there's another mod which makes them unkillable by these standars.
I know Ferocious Loyalty can be a fight changer but i don't like the threshold perks.

Well, the question was purely mechanical, so roleplay reasons don't really factor into it. I think it is a weakness of NV to not bother catering to a Charisma above 1 with the perk selection, because as a skill boost, it isn't really stunning either, and has a single non-skill boosting gameplay feature: Companion Nerve. Not that the game actually tells you that.
