Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

What the actual fuck are you doing, Nick?
Sounds like your typical furry grooming.

I never got people who turned ASMR into a roleplay fetish like this. I always just went to MassageASMR since Dimitri actually does ASMR the way it's meant to be done, he's got it down to a science. The right microphone setup, the right movements, the right speed, the right noises. If your brain is wired for those ASMR tingles, he knows what will work to yank at those wires. Others will either overdo it or do shit like this and give ASMR a bad name.
Another big plus is that Dimitri has a soft deep voice where once I listened to him blabbering about microphones while falling asleep and it helped.
I seriously don't get people who get off on this erotic whisper roleplay bullshit. I just want to listen to a bald man handling a bar of soap for ten hours.

Can this crossdressing loon stop trying to be the next Kane Pixels and just go back to making good videos? Thanks.

He has the one gimmick and is milking that for everything that he can lol.
I think this is probably why you see a lot of ARGs and AH fall off quickly. The original feel of the start goes away when it takes off and now the creators think they're movie directors and get the same ego.
Pretty much on the nail, I wrote some similar ideas a fair bit back in the thread. The second AH tropes became """cringe""" because 14 year olds do what they do with everything and overuse them, he immediately tried to be a Kane copycat rather than try and innovate within the format. His sideproject got no traction and now he's clearly floundering and begging for a Hollywood deal.

I get AH aesthetics are played out and tired like vaporwave got, but I think they still have infinitely more charm than whatever the fuck everyone pivoted to. Local58 still hits well, so do the early weather channel ones which were popular for the time. The next big creator to make it in internet horror probably pivots back to the core of AH and finds a way to innovate it. It sure won't be Alex or any of the other hacks though.

Bit of a tism rant incoming......
AH nowadays only exasperates Local58 more and more and the fact that it pretty much finished further proves things. Been said before but what made Local58 great was that it had background lore that wasn't overblown and the usages of different types of media for story telling (the broadcast and the found footage style with You're On The Fastest Route) flowed well with each other. Issue with current AH creators is that everyone is trying to be the next whatever big AH thing is now. It went from Local58 clones and peolpe missing the point so they made their series' tired with too much going on (Vita Carnis is a clear example of this) that shifted to funnily enough Mandela Catalogue where everyone seemed like they were trying to do the entity horror thing while again missing the point.

What got played out is really all these people who want something to be talked about with other communities when the reason why people remember stuff like Local58 is because it didn't do too much with the material but that is a good thing as what was given spoke for itself. It hit that right nostalgia with those weather channels and local T.V vibes that all these new creators copy for aesthetic alone.

I already said it but the predecessor to Local58, Kraina Grzybów, did analog horror right before analog horror was a thing. It played into your psyche with it's editing and design just well enough where you couldn't tell if it's something made recently or if it's lost media, the author went above and beyond to stay anonymous throughout the series to amplify the mystery and it was crafted in such a way where there was no definitive answer given so people continuously theorized about the meaning of the series.

Those are the three cardinal sins all analog horror series commit:
1. They break your suspension of disbelief by using effects and designs that clearly don't match what the series is meant to be about.
2. Every single analog horror creator instantly reveals themselves and plasters their name all over the series killing any and all mystery about it.
3. Everything in the series has to be explained in excruciating detail, leaving zero space for theorizing, and most importantly, killing any and all possibilities for the fear of the unknown.

Don't forget 4. They merch the ever loving Christ out of it once it gets any smidge of popularity. Makeship preferred.

Actually, there was merch store for Kraina Grzybów during it's initial anonymous run. But it also tied into the series itself, where one of the items that was "purchasable" but "out of stock" was the fictional book referenced in the series, which only added fuel to the speculation surrounding the series' meaning.

It was just a handful of t-shirts and the only people who remember that this store existed are people who followed the series and the theories made around it as it went on from 2013 to 2017. But still, a stark contrast to the instant shilling of plushies with your name plastered all over it. It only kills any mystery further and the series is being overshadowed by the creator's ego.

Then again, while making Kraina Grzybów, Wiktor went from being a student to being a cultural studies doctorate with the series being a part of his studies, while just about every current AH creator going nowhere in life with their series.

So the Slenderman Stabbing Brat escaped the group home but she was found soon after.

She was found with a middle-aged man who had been traveling with her.

Yikes. That's nasty. Ladies, do you wanna see this in the bathroom with you?

She looks like PirateSoftware.

It all seems a little....shady. Never mind the girl who is 100% schizo, but why was the dude with her?

According to other sources, they were apparently friends. That too seems very suspect. You got a violent schizo in a group home and a tranny who thought "Yeah, I'm gonna take this violent schizo half my age who stabbed a girl 19 times out on a joyride for freedom to Nashville because we are total besties!"

What? Then again, they are both very insane.

Anyway new Dire Trip
This was a rough one to get through.

The worst one outside of the plushie shilling honestly, I can live with suspending disbelief over editing/effects to some extent but this one just ruins it immediately because most of these creators are dopamine-hungry loners who need validation.

That's not a new development. Think back to 10-15 years ago when creepypasta was in its heyday, Jeff the Killer story just came out and every underage creepypasta fanboy rushed to make a pasta of their own about angsty troubled OC just like Jeff. I think Creepypasta Wiki just stopped accepting these stories at some point.
I dunno why that happens. Probably due to the fact that adults have higher standards for their own work.
The real fun was all the dark edgy girls with killer OCs that wanted to fuck Jeff

So they booked a place and made a live creepcast episode with the viewers.

It went from them just reading creepypastas in an entertaining way to half of the runtime being them talking about private lives to now directly having fans join in on the show. Yeah, it's for charity and I'm not criticizing that. But it's just insane how parasocial the show has become over time. I clicked a random recent episode and it has them talking about some personal stuff for 23 minutes straight right at the start.

10% of all reviews are one star and often say something along those lines. I personally wouldn't trust it and this sponsorship lowers my opinion of Wendigoon.

Youtubers taking sponsorships from scummy companies? Color me shook! I'm barely surprised at this point. Nor am I shocked at the lack of critical thinking and integrity for cash. Hence why BetterHelp has been popping up again.

Also new Dire Trip. Edgelord Brony furfag loser targeting firefighters. But why...?
He sort of looks like a skinnier Nova Online.

What in the absolute fuck is Nick Nocturne doing making smutty furfag ASMR videos with his faggot fuck buddies?

How fitting that this seems to have been the straw that broke the camel's back, because Nick Nocturne allegations have dropped. The day has come.

I'm only skimming through it ATM because it's 81 pages long, but pay close attention to the section "Sexual Content and Exploitation". Copy of the document as of writing this is attached.

Not surprised that a guy who leans hard into a parasocial relationship with his viewers as a parental figure is outed as a creep

Fucking finally I hope this is the end of ARG slop.

Eh not really, Nightmind lost a lot of influence he used to have due to being pretty delusional and acting high and mighty. That along with really avoiding bigger projects in pursuit of being a contrarian hipster along with his furry shit
