I heard people talking about how redditors are losing it over Arc Raiders because people kill them in a PvP game instead of wholesome epic roleplay and man they sound genuinely insane in these posts. One guy was saying that if you trick and kill people in a video game it makes you a bad person in real life and its just full of people crying because they were tricked by a guy just saying "hey I'm friendly"
nearly every game promotes by itself or by player base being an asshole
even in something like left 4 dead, probably half of all matches i've ever seen in all forms go like >4 survivors at corner >1 goes down >maybe 1 other survivor gives a tiny shit but then all 3 sprint off >then some variation of 1 goes down, 1 drops everything to pick them up, then 3rd thinks they're mlg enough or some shit to solo the rest of the map sprinting off and then somehow get smoker'd and huntr'd at the same time while calling everyone a shitter faggot, and then either shit talking for 30 minutes in spectator, then "REZ ME REZ ME REZ ME", quitting, or both
even if you only play with friends, if you don't vet who you actually play with or tolerate it, many people are elitist as fuck on every game and will just be a pesty asshole about your hit ratio or some shit and go blind when they fuck up, banter being one thing but then there's the like "permanent disappointed drunk dad" people
whatever options available, people will use them and find new ways to be douchebags in a match or the entire meta game, like in the souls games where people would drop modded items and report who picked them up and get them perma banned, and devs fully enforced said bans and their response was basically "never pick up anything people drop (that looks like any item a fucking mob drops) or we can ban you at will"
on top of people ALSO just being unfun faggots, like if you're ever in a mp server just chilling and then try to do something funny but not personally damaging to people, like a bf/gf erping and emoting and then you go up and some mimic of tbagging the gf, and then they spaz the fuck out, or if 2 people are role sperging in gta re enacting a tik tok fanfic or some shit and you decide to just run up and punch one or some variant of and then they immediately scream for daddy to perma ban (and of course they do), it just makes people having fun lean to actual full asshole things, especially when the elitist/pesty fuck/troon or troon coq enjoyer is the rule not the exception
