The Judicial Police reported that the driver of the vehicle that caused the tragedy is a 36-year-old man surnamed Barrantes, who was taken to a medical center and released shortly thereafter.

Ultra Iraq learned that the targeted officer was Colonel Zaid Adil, director of the Arafa Police District, and that the incident occurred in front of his home in the Arafa neighborhood of Kirkuk. The outlet obtained video footage documenting the moment of the attack.
In the video, the officer is seen holding a water hose when a white vehicle approaches him. One of the passengers opens fire on the officer while the vehicle continues moving.
According to a security source who spoke to Ultra Iraq, "the colonel was hit by two bullets, one of them in the neck, and died after being transferred to the hospital." Police later found the suspects' vehicle.
The source added that "a police force found the vehicle and discovered the body of the driver inside, who had also died from gunfire under mysterious circumstances," noting that "initial information indicates the arrest of the main suspect."
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari announced the formation of "a high-level investigative committee to follow up on the circumstances of the crime, pursue the perpetrators, and bring them to justice."
In a statement followed by Ultra Iraq, the minister said:
"With deep sorrow and grief, I mourn the martyrdom of Colonel Zaid Adil Subaih, one of the heroic officers of the Ministry of Interior and the Kirkuk Police, who was martyred as a result of a treacherous shooting by unknown gunmen in front of his home, in a cowardly crime targeting one of the nation's loyal security men."
He added:
"As I extend my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the family of the martyr, his relatives, and colleagues, I affirm that the blood of our pure martyrs will not be wasted, and that the Ministry of Interior will remain an impregnable barrier against anyone who attempts to undermine the security of the nation or target its honorable men."

On the morning of December 21, the An Chau Commune Police coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial Police to investigate the cause of the fatal accident.
According to initial information, around 9:00 PM on December 20, K. (15) and two 13-year-olds—all residents of An Chau commune—were riding on a single motorbike from Hau Hoa Parish back to their local area to celebrate Christmas.
While traveling on the inter-commune road bordering the Dien Loc – Dien Tan (former) area, the motorbike collided with an oncoming truck that was making a left turn into a resident's home.

I'm too young to imagine a life without it. But at least the gore sites I grew up with had more empathetic users and a grimmer aesthetic.
