Wow, just laughable lies from Ian McCollum of 'Forgotten Weapons' about his failure to put out Maxim Popenker's excellent book on AKs. There are no 'sanctions against Russia' that ban payments to Mr. Popenker as an individual. There are no sanctions against paying random Russian gun experts as a class. There are no sanctions against paying experts who wrote books about AKs. As a person from another country under jew control with (even more ridiculous) sanctions against Russia than the US, I have paid contractors in Russia without any problems, unless you consider 'mild inconvenience' to be a dealbreaker. It would be entirely legal for Headstamp to publish Popenker's book, and to pay him royalties. Ian is just lying about this because he considers the Tornado Battalion to be heroes.

I mean if you actually watched the video you posted to the end, Ian actually states that the real reason is that he didn't like the outlook of the book that was mostly walls of text and not enough pictures, which is what Headstamp does. He literally says that even if there were no sanctions, the book would still not happen.

No, he states that he wanted more pictures, and that his pussy hurt because mean Putin so no want more pictures.

I mean I don't know if you lack the understanding of English, because that's not what Ian says on the video. The photos were lacking already before the invasion. Popenker himself couldn't get all of those photos that they wanted, and he is supposed to be more connected to those sources.

I don't even get why you are mad. The fact that Ian is "lying" that they can't publish a book that he doesn't want to publish because the book is not up to their standards? Yeah, I'm sure they "could" do it if they wanted, but they won't because it's not a good book for them. So I guess someone else can turn it to English if they want to, just like someone else took over that Azov book that Ian dropped.

It's obvious that Ian and his guys at Headstamp have a clear guidline of what their books are about: as much pictures of the guns as it is information in text form. For Ian, it doesn't matter if it's the best text resource available on the subject: no photos, no publishing via Headstamp.

I do hope someone eventually publishes that book, because AFAIK it really was going into detail that hasn't really been published in the West yet.

Kiwis, tell me about your carry ammo. Personally, I swap it out once a year for the magazines and the old stuff gets put in long term SHTF storage. What do you do with it?

I shoot my carry ammo after a year the next range day and replace it with new rounds. JCHP for the semiauto and soft points for the .357. It gets too much moisture carrying it around to store it, also it's nice to get an idea of how it differs to my target ammo.

Understandable, we shoot our duty ammo but for civie carry I'd rather have an ammo can with silicon packets of probably okay ammo for SHTF/RAHOWA/Walking Dead/Total Retard War.

Remember, half of us spergs at any given time are shooting cold war era surplus on public lands.

I buy a case of gold dots and shoot the ammo after 6 months or so. Not worth saving a few rounds of ammo.
HST, GoldDot, Defender/Ranger Bonded, Critical Duty are all roughly equal in performance. I would not trust anything that isn’t these.

As for rotating ammo 6-12 month is a good timeframe depending on how much sweat/moisture your rounds are exposed to. Moisture is the number one cause of ammonia failures. Temperature cycling to extreme temperatures (Below -20F, above 125F) can cause issues with the powder burn but that is a longer term issue that rotating your ammo will solve.

I'm talking about "No rapid fire! There must be at least five seconds between each shot!"
I once shot at a range that had a 3 seconds between each shot rules, except in their pistol bays where I guess anything went. But it was the only range around that went out to 300 yards. If they even thought you were shooting too fast they would bitch you out.
So it'll magdump into your leg rather than just firing one shot upon holstering?

Merry Christmas
