Games With Really Spergy Fanbases That You Still Enjoy

Sonic The Hedgehog, at least the 2D ones (And Generations). I grew up with those games and they always bring back lots of warm fuzzy memories of sitting at my Amstrad Mega PC (look that muthafucka up) playing Sonic 3 while the rain pounded on my bedroom window. I didn't give a shit, I was happy as hell. Even to this day playing Vidya when the weathers foul outside I always get nostalgic for Sonic.

I quite liked Mass Effect up until the last 20% of 3 and I do play Andromeda which is... above average, all things considered.

Heavy risk, BUT THE FANBASE...

Jesus Christ. The ME fandom combines the worst parts of Tumblr with the autismal attention to canon that Trekkers are known for. Disparage anyone's OTP at your peril.

Rocket League is the only game where I've been told to kill myself numerous times. If you spent less time using the chat box and more time defending then maybe you wouldn't be 4-0 down *insert nail painting emoji* Forfeits are now more common than salt for us but my friends and I stick with games even when losing badly. It also confuses the hell out of the other team to type in '2ez' when you lose. One replied with "we won u gay faggot rug muncher". It's great when they're pissy despite winning.

As for the OP, Overwatch needs a mention. I enjoy the game despite knowing there's cows on tumblr wanting every character to be lesbian trans women. I forgot about gay Tracer until posting this. To balance it out, I've also seen some great art made by its fandom and some humorous comics.

Is it wrong that I'm enthralled by (mostly old school) Mega Man and Sonic games? Even though the fanbases for both are pretty much garbage?? Especially in Sonic's case??? At least the Mega Man fanbase can be right about certain games being crappy most of the tine and not be in complete denial about it, unlike the Sonic game fans...

I'm mostly old school gaming trash, BTW.
 
Undertale. I like how it starts off with a rather simple story and gradually turns into quite an emotional ride. I can tell that there was a great deal of heart and effort put into it and I admire how it used its medium to try something that at the time felt new and inventive. I've stayed far away from a great deal of the fanbase so I guess I'm less jaded and disgusted as some. I still really love the game and its themes. The fanbase can go die in a ditch.

I know two people already said it before, but fuck it, I still can't find a way to bring myself to hate Undertale. Granted over time, the fanbase has slightly tarnished certain parts, (Sans) but I still do genuinely like the game and found it a fun game that the internet skyrocketed into extreme levels of overpopularity.

Yeah, DCS is probably the worst one or at least tied with the weirdos who spend all day on X-Plane/MS:FS pretending to be ATC. Even the guys still playing Jane's F-15E and Super Hornet are more relaxed than them. I'd say go hit up combatace.com instead, they're the more relaxed group for any stuff like DCS, ARMA and Rise of Flight, which all attract the spergs like flies to honey
