Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.

The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.

“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.

On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.

Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”

Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Despite what the Post says about the protestor's condition, Fox News is reporting he died. Spiciness inbound.

What a wonderful guy he was!

Except:

Pretti was an ICU nurse, not a physical therapist. His face is clearly the CNN edit (lol). For some reason, the guy on the right has a weight belt on and the other only has one prosthetic leg. The flag has eleven stripes, when it should have thirteen. Predictably, Redditors are eating this AI bullshit up.
I’ve heard conflicting shit like he was a VA nurse or that he was basically a scribe at the VA and had either been fired or quit.

If you are 37 years old and a basic bitch job at the VA, something is wrong with you. They will promote you to management or whatever eventually.

Crossposting, since it's more than just "he was doing this before" and then brought a gun.
He supposedly wiped his social media the day before this happened, his parents were very worried he was going to do something stupid based on communications with him, and he'd quit his job a couple months prior to this, so basically he seems to exactly fit the profile of someone intentionally trying to get something to happen.

To me the deletion of his socials the day before is the most telling.
That and the fact he didn't bring his ID or his permit with him. This has been a pattern with leftists lately where they carry out attacks but make sure they have nothing to ID on them if/when they are caught.

I would bet the law says you can't legally carry during commission of a crime so his disorderly conduct or obstruction whatever would probably the better thing to demonstrate him as prohibited. He went in with a depraved mind or whatever.

Separately, if he didn't get Goodified, I think he could have been fucked if he did get into a situation at one of the protests where it actually typically would have been thought of as legal for him to shoot (a jogger tries to rob him) but some random thing made it grey enough it goes to trial. Strapping a gun on before you go somewhere you think there could be trouble, a crazy environment is legally all kinds of stupid and shows you 1000% knew you should have stayed home.

btw, just lol if one of the left's new gun owners ever has to shoot a jogger

This is true but not having a permit while carrying concealed is in itself a crime. So he was already breaking the law before having the confrontation, it just says to me he was preparing himself to do something that day, erasing his social media the day before is just more evidence IMO.

Deleted his social media the day prior as well...

Almost like there was intent

are people pushing this photo as real?

Guy was a balding fugly 3/10 Happy Merchant looking motherfucker.

He probably figured if pussy was out of the question he could at least get famous by doing a terrorism.

I don't really know how to make sense of this guy. If he just wanted to suicide by ICE he could draw the gun. So maybe he wanted to suicide by ICE without drawing so he looks like a peaceful protestor? He could at least fight more instead of retreating like he does in this incident video in that case. If he just wants to bait them to assault him but not kill him, why bring the gun? I feel like he is just full on TDS. I wouldn't be surprised if he did reach for the gun in the pileup before they shot him. It's like Chekov's Gun but in real life. What the hell does he have it for if not to use it? He just wanted to be placed in an "I'm defending myself" situation first?

Well whatever, it's done.

In my opinion the lying going on right now is worse then what the libs did during Floyd. With Floyd there was an actual case to be made that the hold they had him in was excessive you could theoretically make an argument about that. This guy got into a physical fight with federal agents got his shit kicked in then came back the next day armed so if that happened again he could shoot them dead. It's about as clear cut as you can get and far more clear cut then Floyd.

He was armed both times. I'm amazed they let him go, but I'm not certain they noticed. If they had hauled him in for the multiple serious crimes he committed there on video and seized the gun he would be alive. If you let kids get away with touching the stove once, they are very likely to do it again when the heat is on.

See I didn't even know that part wow. Floyd wasn't even armed. This guy showed up with a gun to start shit and possibly shoot it out with the cops and he is being painted as the victim of a Gestapo execution. Fucking madness. We live in end times.

You aren't thinking about this like a brainraped performative faggot who has suddenly decided they have nothing to lose, and wants a place in history before they go. Think like a school shooter, but inverted because it's not infamy they're chasing.

He's got a ready made narrative to play into with an audience seemingly ready to lionize martyrs, to do the maximum damage he needs to appear to be victimized by a severely disproportionate response from ICE agents for maxmum a-bloo-blooing potential in the media, and just having a gun while doing what he's doing puts him in that position by default. Any response to him and his actions will change once the gun comes into play and it's most likely to elicit a sudden seemingly disproportionate response when a bunch of armed men wrestling with a resisting subject learn about it mid-scuffle: anyone can watch couple dozen bodycam videos from Police Activity to learn this.

Run the numbers on how many suspects end up surviving a magdump (it's way too many) and he might have figured he either dies a martyr, or gets severely injured and ends up with a fat payout if he doesn't, either way he's furthered the cause by getting brutalized and secured his wikipedia article.
