Oh yeah. Rs3 was pay to win for the longest time and I don't blame anyone for leaving over microtransactions or initial EOC. EOC is greatly improved these days and those pay to win microtransactions are gone now. Prior to the removal of MTX, I've always recommended Ironman mode since those accounts have MTX disabled entirely. These days, Rs3 is no more pay to win than OSRS since you can buy bonds in either game, sell those for in game cash and use that cash to buy equipment and consumables. But I know how it is for most people; The damage is already done.I dropped mainbranch RS because of that retarded fucking roulette minigame they added.
Suffered through several weeks of seeing it upon logging in, witnessed them adding shit like non-tradeable copies of endgame items (TOTALLY does not affect the economy goyim trust us) to the reward pool, saw the shitstorm on the forums and the "nope, it's here to stay" response from the devs and just let my membership run out. My old char is still parked in one of the houses around the East Ardougne marketplace. I was pickpocketing the knights iirc.
Heard you can just straight-up buy shit like potions for real money in RS3 these days. Not touching it even if I come back to OSRS itself one day.
I haven't played Rs3 after Hero's Pass (late 2023 battlepass shit) threatened the sanctity of Ironman mode by offering massive bonuses to Ironman players. Jagex backed off of those bonuses after massive backlash though.
