OSRS / Old School Runescape - Medieval Cookie Clicker

I dropped mainbranch RS because of that retarded fucking roulette minigame they added.
Suffered through several weeks of seeing it upon logging in, witnessed them adding shit like non-tradeable copies of endgame items (TOTALLY does not affect the economy goyim trust us) to the reward pool, saw the shitstorm on the forums and the "nope, it's here to stay" response from the devs and just let my membership run out. My old char is still parked in one of the houses around the East Ardougne marketplace. I was pickpocketing the knights iirc.
Heard you can just straight-up buy shit like potions for real money in RS3 these days. Not touching it even if I come back to OSRS itself one day.
Oh yeah. Rs3 was pay to win for the longest time and I don't blame anyone for leaving over microtransactions or initial EOC. EOC is greatly improved these days and those pay to win microtransactions are gone now. Prior to the removal of MTX, I've always recommended Ironman mode since those accounts have MTX disabled entirely. These days, Rs3 is no more pay to win than OSRS since you can buy bonds in either game, sell those for in game cash and use that cash to buy equipment and consumables. But I know how it is for most people; The damage is already done.

I haven't played Rs3 after Hero's Pass (late 2023 battlepass shit) threatened the sanctity of Ironman mode by offering massive bonuses to Ironman players. Jagex backed off of those bonuses after massive backlash though.

I think A Friend before his massive downfall had a video where he spent real money on XP lamps in RS3 and Maxxed in just a few hours.

What was A Friend’s downfall, I vaguely remember him getting caught watching Asian girl porn on his phone on a public train, was that it?

I recall him having a shifty end to his HCIM series, and the reboot wasn't has popular. Then that drama happened. He fell off YT content like Theoatrix did. They still upload, but they've peaked.

iirc A Friend was like the bigger content creator for OSRS def for RS3 in the early years, he was also a player mod, then I think he took either a sketchy sponser or took a sketchy service in game (rev protections) but this was when he literally just impregnated some random bitch (which I don’t even think he sees the kid) which destroyed his reputation. And then recently he sperged out about being called a faggot by some kid because he was wearing a pink shirt and some how that’s Mod Norths fault or something

Take that all with a grain of salt as I am trying to remember from years ago when I consumed OSRS content heavily

I love THE CRAB but it's kind of a double edged sword. I've gained millions and millions of XP while AFK on THE CRAB while I go IRL fishing, watch tv at home, do some choring, anything. But damn I've wasted so much combat XP that could have been done gaining slayer. Sometimes I'll even think "I should go get a new slayer task tonight". But then I say fuck it, I'm gonna bitch slap THE CRAB around some more.

They buffed the ever living shit out of music today <3

Random is actually a shuffle now, you can make playlists, it remembers what song you were listening to last

A lot of sailing songs are really good albeit they do sound a lot like Sea of Stars

I've never really seen it as that big of a deal honestly. Don't let the miserable efficiencyscapers drag you down on that. Some days I just can't be bothered with the skill either. Especially if I'm doing something like fishing for hydra tasks with Konar and she tells me to go deep into brimhaven for steel drags or some similar bullshit. Like no, fuck that, I'm just gonna go chill at gem crab for an hr instead cause I can't be fucked today.

There's so much kooky, bullshit and entertaining content that people will never see because of efficiencyscape. The people locking themselves in the lumbridge cellar and playing like cavemen are having the most fun with this game

Pretty decent series, dude is truly Unguided. His first 99 was mining
Absolute chad, what an awesome first 99

Runescape's history and fluctuations in playerbase since 2008 has been an emotional rollercoaster. It honestly feels "alive" again today, as it did from 2007 up to EOC. After EOC something changed, nobody talked any more, not at skilling locations or PVM or anywhere. If you pick a random player in game today or back in 2007 and goof on them, maybe 50% of the time you'll get a response and maybe even have some fun with them. That completely disappeared, nobody talked. It was like all the people who intended to have fun left and only those who were fully committed to number-go-up whether through sunk cost fallacy or autism were left. It was like a zombie game. Sad.

Anyway yes the game is great now and alive as it's ever been with many newcomers. You will likely end up wasting an insane amount of time if you like it.

This is honestly one of my favorite recent Qol updates. It always blows me away when people say they play with music/sounds off.

Except for the part where each playlist can only hold 100 tracks each for no reason except fuck you. Fucking Jagex moment.

That’s a pretty good barrows log for someone that’s running all the way from Varrock for each run

HE DISCOVERED THAT THEY HAVE SET BONUSES, WERE IN A NEW AGE BOIS

So that 25 year anniversary event sucked right? Like I can excuse anniversary’s for odd year numbers like 17, 23 and all that but you’d think for a quarter of a century they’d do more right
This is my first anniversary event so I don't have another to compare it to, but it definitely felt tedious. The end room was really cute though! I liked seeing what things used to look like.

Side note how the fuck do people make their character appear like this. This one made me chuckle

Transformation item of some kind. 3rd Age Ring maybe? What's with the shield icons next to the usernames? I've been seeing those around and don't know what those are.

That’s the 3a ring lets you turn into 3a items on the ground, it’s the more super common 3a item that’s obtained through Mimic. The icon is the icon us mobilers can turn on to flex that we are on mobile (well apparently people it’s flex to do real content on mobile)

All seasonal/anniversary events tend to be tedious fetch quests however it being their 25th anniversary I was more so expecting more, like the rewards actually suck, and then the big thing is oh a square room filled with old models (apparently the imp model isnt there??? Even though that’s the only real cool old model)
