Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I don't enjoy the NES Castlevania games. Yeah, the pixel art and animations are lovely, especially in Castlevania 3. And yeah, the music is incredible. But the shockingly stiff jumping controls all but ruin the experience for me. I also find it irritating that Simon/Trevor creeps along like a Mars rover.

I want to like sims 4 but the fandom ruined for me. They screech over everything that isn't free (like the upcoming Sims mobile if you look at any youtbe comments about this game) and always have a weird death wish about EA if they don't pander to them.

Who actually calls Overwatch groundbreaking? It's just TF2 with a few more bells and whistles added in.
The same people who clapped like trained seals when they announced that Tracer was a lesbian or that one of their characters, a robot, was agender.

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks is actually pretty fun, especially with a second player. I wish they'd make a sequel.

Overwatch is the worst attempt at a fast paced team shooter I have ever played. It has none of the joy that TF2 has, none of the speed Tribes had and none of the team play requirement that CS has or the balance that Siege posses. It literally just relies on having edgy "Grrrl" waifu bullshit for neckbeards who jerk off to the pornography their community college gender studies professors have told them is acceptable

Mario 64 is the worst 3d Mario game
Uncharted 4 is a 5/10 game
I'm happy Mega Man Legends 3 was canceled, looked shit
I enjoyed Knack
Lost Planet 3 was pretty good
Open world games are mostly too big with a tons of empty space, see Zelda BotW
The Sega Saturn had a better line up than the N64, unless you lived in America
Psychonauts went to shit halfway through
Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed is the best kart game
Pikmin 3 is the best Wii U game
The Wii had a good line up

I think the Saturn is criminally underrated (it's got the best Bomberman and Panzer Dragoon Saga) but its architecture is retarded, its copy protection is counter-intuitive and it only has a library worth caring about if you import.

I can enjoy Overwatch in small doses, but good god does it get boring. All of the maps besides maybe the one in Mexico are horribly designed and are built around shoving a team through the smallest choke possible. The game also has little to no content, so I feel bad for anyone that poured $60 for it on console.

I tried it for exactly one match during a free weekend, that shit bored me immensely.

I really don't care about the Legend of Zelda series. I understand why people like them so much, and I agree they are good games, but they just aren't for me.

The only 3 zelda games I could REALLY get into were the 3 Gameboy/Gameboy Color games (Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Seasons)

Dark Souls 2 is a good game.

DS2 is supposed to be the black sheep of the series, and although I can see why, there are many aspects to DS2 that improve upon DS1. Your armor rating scales with strength, cast speed has its own stat, resistance (a useless stat) is replaced with adaptability (a useful stat), more and better looking armors, dual wielding, bonfire warping from the beginning of the game, easier to manage your gear, more ring slots, better messaging system... It's honestly superior to DS1 in every way except for the NPCs and bosses.

There are very few epic boss battles in DS2 and I believe that's the glaring flaw that causes so many people to dislike this game. Admittedly, that's a pretty big flaw in a series famed for boss battles. In a lot of ways DS2 feels like "babby's first Souls game" but I just don't mind. Maybe it's because I'm a Fashion Souls player at heart.

I like DS2 the most, tbh. The art style is the best in the series. It honestly kinda felt like the 2nd Zelda game if it were made in 2013
