On a sidenote, Phil quit right before P5 got hard (the last two dungeons or so) so he kinda got lucky when Atlus copyright striked him, well sorta.

i was thinking this too. he got soooo much shit for quitting persona 3 so i wouldn't be surprised if he was a bit relieved knowing that he had a "legit" excuse to not keep playing and potentially ragequitting.

Which CAN be a good strategy, if Peter charges less interest than Paul. I doubt that's the case with Phil, though.
It definitely can be a good strategy, but in Phil's case it's stupid. Why take a loan out on equity, when he could use that equity and pay off his OTHER house. He could move back into his condo, have about $50k in mortgage debt, or he could have two houses and $500k+ of mortgage debt. Let's see which one this guy chooses.

I feel like gated communities aren't that common. Where I live even the luxury places aren;t surrounded by a gate. DSP must really be nervous about detractors to find that place.

The actual gate that surrounds the complex isn't even anything special. Barely any better looking than a rent-a-fence construction companies use -- the picture of it is floating around here somewhere. Any able bodied, relatively in-shape person could hop the thing no problem.

Also lots of tweets from Drgn, but I like this one in particular:
https://twitter.com/Drgnkiller/status/879544377105887232 (http://archive.is/zGZYj)

It's both projection and a good example of his Narcissistic personality --
"I am failing completely on this platform, therefore this platform is failing and by projecting my failure onto it, it's no longer my fault. It is also failing largely because of my inability to do well on it, therefore my efforts are so important that the platform's success or failure hinges on how well I do, and nobody else's efforts."

Seriously, if there are any lurkers or members that are doing Psych classes of any kind in College/University, consider showing your teacher Phil and his statements. Guarantee they'd have a field day with his psyche, and they'd laugh at his dumb ass with the rest of us.

So Vidar quit phils streams huh? Wonder if it had anything to do with people calling him out on being a pedo supporter and working with kids.

Phil couldn't care less as long as the retard keeps sending him half (if not more) of his paycheck.

Also tough guy Burnell is running his mouth again:

I guess he would know, considering he nearly got his fat face grated into the pavement by Jaha.

It's probably for the best. I know people who are dedicated SMT junkies who struggled with some of the late game fights. Several of the endgame bosses can heal themselves (I essentially had to do the final angel fight twice over my first time due to healing to full when he was down to a sliver of HP), and we all know that's what made Phil rage quit Nyx. There's no way Phil would have been leveled up enough to beat the final boss of the true ending without dying multiple times to Ray of Control. He probably would have rage quit at the angels, but if he didn't he'd rage quit at the final boss.

Imagine if he had to play something much harder like Shin Megami Tensei 3...

Many people are not only forced to grind but use a specific demon against Matador who is a rather early and extremely difficult boss. Daisoujou shortly follows him who likes to cast things like Mahamon and Mamudoon well before you get any immunities to instant death.

There is also the Trumpeter who has 2 unique skills. One will instantly kill 100% a target and the other will fully restore the person with the lowest HP...which can also include himeslf.

And that's not including Beelzebuub who will instantly kill anyone who doesn't have Dark immunity.

Phil keeps losing to evilAJ in Street Fighter. He also keeps completely losing his shit when that happens:

Imagine being this mad at video games all the time. I'd also love it if I could postulate this question to Phil -- If the people who keep beating you are "dumb bitches" and "total fucking scrubs" then what does that make you?

:autism: Or SMT 4. That also had some hard bosses early on. I was doing fine and then I was up against Ares and I just couldn't beat him. I know he was optional but damn, he was an eye-opener early on. The only thing is you can access those exp-giving books and grind to level 100 with incredible ease. If you don't do that though, very challenging.

I fucking love Trumpeter. He's my go-to guy for fighting Reapers because of Debilitate + charge abilities and Heat Riser and immunity to insta-kills. He is an absolute shithead to fight, though. Thank god you never have to go up against a perfect Yoshitsune (or even just Yoshitsune with Hassou Tobi and his natural immunities). I know he's a boss in Devil Summoner though. :autism:

I would love to see Phil play any of the SMT games, or even DDS. SMT in general is much harder than Persona in my experience. Saying he won't play any more Atlus games is ridiculous. I don't think he realises just how many games they publish, even if he knows Persona is one of their biggest properties.

Phil quits Persona and other JRPGs because he's shit at RPGs, including western action RPGs like Dark Souls and Dragon Age. They require thought and patience and often times you need to grind in order to reliably survive an area or a boss. Persona 5 in my opinion was 'casualised' for want of a better word and Phil struggled despite having played 3 and 4 (which were imo harder games) because he doesn't remember anything from game to game in any given series. The same is true for the other RPG series he follows. It doesn't help that RPGs tend to be long and thus viewer interest quickly dwindles.

I think he underestimates how beloved JRPGs and Visual Novels are. This is the guy who thinks Zelda has a niche audience, after all.

I wonder if Phil knows it's the same guy he keeps playing against, if he even pays attention to the other person's username at all.

There's a delicious irony in Phil repeatedly losing to the same guy who started TIHYDP, especially since he most likely doesn't realize it.

What has everyone's reaction been when they see Phil try games that you like and are actually ok at? His Devil May Cry playthroughs left me screaming at the screen to learn how Nero's Buster works.

I'm actually pretty happy when he plays games I have like Persona and Danganronpa. Not only is it two things I'm interested in together,it also means I get to look forward to him getting to certain parts.

Well the Metal Gear Solid games I think it goes without saying everything. "How do I use rations?" "Where's my shotgun?" "Chicky chang wang Charlie Chang..."

I know 2 and 3 are the legendary ones but MGS 1 was the one that got me. Constantly getting caught, seemingly blind in one eye because it was like he couldn't see the radar, trying to shove his shitty jokes into every cutscene, and around the Hind fight he just checked out and sang the KWO song the rest of the game. If MGS had platforming it would perfectly encapsulate everything horrible about Dsp into one game.

Even having played the previous games and having chat help he still played the game like a person who just discovered what video games were and decided to film himself trying to play his first game.

I don't play a lot of games but his RE 4 play through was especially horrible. That was the first 3rd person shooter I had ever really played (not counting fucking around with Tomb Raider and RE 1 and 2 are radically different) but even I was able to figure out the basics pretty well. The only shit I looked up online for that game were how to solve the puzzles just so I could blast through them.

But Phil was just horrendously bad. I screamed at my monitor "AIM AT THEIR FUCKING HEAD!" Whenever he bitched about the executioners (the giant guys with chain guns) and never aimed at the head and got his shit pushed in.
