I should've figured he just went full "my partner", bluesky exclusive retard at the end. Ngl, I take no joy in the death of a severely disabled man. He might have turned into a faggot but there's no way he had an easy life, he stuck to ideals that were very hard to stick by for a long time and I think he should be remembered for that and his achievements instead of how he turned his back on it all. He may have wanted to put out the fire he helped create but he never did and the influence of his old self that everyone actually liked is still felt today.

yeah, that was a weird turn from being a free speech absolutionist and creating 8chan, to being a cancel cultire-loving stooge.I just wonder the reason why he created 8chan because he believed in free speech and something happened to flip his principle, or because he wanted to be somebody in control of other's speech and hid it well until more recent years.

Considering there was like 3 different mass shootings each with quite high body count tied to the website (whether all of those shooters were inspired by 8chan directly is another discussion all together) it's not a shocker he flipped. He probably had a very guilty conscious about what he helped create. I think he knew he had a limited time on the earth and had a serious case of remorse and wanted repentance before he died. His way of doing that was groveling to communist trannies and throwing his old friends under the bus sadly.

I don't think he had a shred of guilt. I think he just grew bitter that the site users were constantly shitting on him, trolling him, and causing problems for him, and his falling out with Watkins was the last straw. Edit: half my post got deleted after internet disconnected, but in short the only thing he was upset about is that people were taking advantage of his professed "principled stance" instead of sucking his dick. He had an existential crisis of "woe is me, nobody appreciates what I've sacrified."
 
Fred once came in my IRC and asked for an exception to the AGPL license of my imageboard software. He wanted to make some kind of antispam system and believed the AGPL restricted him from keeping it closed source. When I declined, he was very upset. I don't think he ever lost his interest in imageboards, he just lost all his internet clout after quitting and betraying the pig farmer.
 
So did his wheelchair go to afterlife aswell?

I never understood this mindset. Aside from what their disability prevents them from doing, people with full benefits have full freedom to pursue any goal they want. No obligation to slave away on a job you don't care about.

His disability didn't turn him into a bad person. Being disabled doesn't make you constantly back stab people and blame everyone else. It can lead to some personality traits but none of them are Judas.

8chan wasn't his first big imageboard. He got kicked out of Wizchan and was looking for another site to admin. It was never about principals.

Because being disabled fucking sucks? Having to watch other people able to do anything they want while you struggle to piss in a pot is not fun. You're forced into an eternal loop of NEET living with no real goals or purpose because actually achieving things while disabled is hard. Keeping yourself mentally healthy while disabled and having little structure in life is very difficult. It's isolating and most people don't want to tard wrangle someone who can't walk or has to cancel doing things last second.

True freedom isn't waking up day after day where you can't even tell what day of the week it is and all you can do is shit yourself while you wait for someone to give you tendies. Faggots think the NEET life style is a utopian ideal, but it's self imposed hell.

More likely an accidental OD according to his “partner”. I think they are still awaiting toxicology results to confirm why he died in his sleep but the partner mentioned he had been taking lots of drugs and went to a methadone clinic. Others have mentioned he ordered drugs off the darknet too.
