Mega Rad Gun Thread

That being said I do have 2500 rounds of 77 OTMs
And here I thought I was Billy Big Balls with my 200 rounds of Mk 262.
I'd reload SHTF ammo like 77gn 5.56 or 9mm HPs but I wouldn't carry reloaded normal defense ammo as I think that'd look REALLY bad in court.
I'm not trying to be pedantic but is this actually a thing that's happened more than even once?
Not only would I buy it, and also have a dick cerakoted onto it, but I would also poke it through the openings of a vtac barricade while firing.
Imagine getting killed by something like that. I'd be glad to be dead (unless they make fun of you for it in Hell).
ap5-p with the frt fucks, that is all
No, child. It doesn't. One round every 5 seconds, max. Enjoy getting thrown off the range by a retarded fudd.
They're trying to put an ex Vista outdoors board member on Ruger's board.

Fuck that. Fucking Euros will absolutely FUCK the US if they can.

I'll bet CZ eventually fucks Colt and that ammo maker they bought eventually.
One part of me hopes someone fucks Colt because of their anti-consumer bullshit. However, I don't think the damage would be limited to only Colt so ultimately I hope this doesn't happen.

Czech Republic is one of the most gun friendly countries in the world. It’s one of the only places you can actually get an LTC.

Euros need the US market to thrive. Companies like Glock and Beretta would be shells of themselves without the US civilian and police market.
For now. Give it a decade and one more mass shooting plus more EU fuckery.

If there's a high profile mass shooting in Italy you can bet your ass they're banning guns immediately.

I cannot trust Euros with US gun makers (but what about Browning you scream, well, FN ate Browning in the 1970s and pretty much all they make are wood stocked shotguns and rifles that are not "scary" )

Glock, Beretta, Sig, HK and FNH have factories in the US and have been making firearms they can’t legally sell to civilians in their country of origin for generations. Shit, Glock even catered to niche LatAm backwaters with the Glock 25.

Browning died because nobody in 2008 was beating down the door to purchase a Hi Power or P220 clone.

Ruger is stagnating because the people who want a GP100 already have one and only clueless normies who wander into gun stores buy a Security 9.

? That’s all browning made anyways besides hipowers which were in catalog until 2014 or so. Browning is a hunting and clay shooting brand.

I haven't followed Kel-tec's coke-fueled spree in a while so apologies if this is alarm clock worthy but apparently they've expanded upon the PR57 line to... .380:
Also $400 is hilarious.

I've unironically been kicked out of a range by a fudd for shooting a 586 too fast

I got yelled at by a indoor range I used to go to frequently because I was firing my 10/22 too fast. Even then it was like 1 shot a second.

A freaking .22.

We Need a Palmer Lucky* for Suppressors, ie, A rich guy with essentially unlimited money hyper focusing on his special interest to the point where he's influencing government decision making. Essentially setting $100M on fire to make the world's largest and automated suppressor manufacturing factory churning out stamped steel baffle cans.
Ok we really need a rich autistic guy to dedicate his life to making suppressors because I just saw a video that blew my mind. Liberty Precision Machine let a guy tour their shop and look at their production processes. And I'll admit that yeah, they're a small shop, constrained by finances and capacity, and that I'm not a machinist or a businessman, but they're CNCing baffles for like $10 per BEFORE calculating in machine time, labor, other steps in the process, power and taxes.

They're buying 48 inch rods of 17-4 stainless of diameters between 1.75in and 2.25in and getting between 21 and 23 baffles per bar depending on the exact suppressor

Lets do some quick math where I make a lot of assumptions. Several online metal supply stores, whose prices do not reflect that of what an actual manufacturer would be paying, list the stock they use (48in, 2In diameter 17-4 round bar for between $300-400. Now, they're buying in relative bulk from a wholesaler, so let's say they get a bar for, Say $230, they state that the maximum they can get from one bar depending on the suppressor model is 23 baffles. That means the raw material cost for every baffle is $10 assuming maximum yield. like I said, this isn't calculating labor, machine time, taxes or literally anything else. Their smallest suppressor has 4 baffles, $40 in baffles alone from the raw materials standpoint, PLUS the main blast chamber and mount section. Now, this calculation would also change if they were a larger manufacturer and bought 12 foot bars in much larger quantities. But still, to make suppressors dirt cheap you need stamping technology. But stamping is expensive and largely single purpose, so manufacturers go with CNC.

Are there any machinists or smart people that can give more insight into this problem

where the fuck do you guys find these people? I have never been thrown off a range, ever and I've never actually seen a fudd in person before despite living among what should be the fuddiest fudds to ever fudd.
They don't always act overtly, but their influence can still be felt.

I know the range I used to go to magically started enforcing a 22" in barrel length requirement for the trap range not too long after I was showing up regularly with a choked M4 and shooting better than the fudds with O/Us and insufficient skill to use them. I'd never even heard the people at the entry kiosk even ASK about barrel length, much less any of the RSOs that were standing right next to everyone, yet one day for no reason at all, "oh we've always had that policy :smug:". It felt like someone running the place getting a complaint from an influential patron and reminding the rank and file to actually enforce a silly policy.

Unfortunately for them I called their bluff: bought a 6" barrel extension, kept using that now utterly hilarious looking abomination which is even more embarrassing to get pantsed by (the front sight post was like 7 inches back from the muzzle by now), and nobody said a damn word.

I had the range whore tell me to slow down my .22 once.
I never went back.
