Yeah, a street theater performance of gangstalkers all saying "take your meds." I think this is why autistic schizos are more treatment-resistant than regular ones...the autism completely prevents them from realizing the people around them are acting abnormally and that this indicates they may need to seek help. With no readable social cues and a history of people making fun of you, everyone saying you're sick and in need of medicine looks like a cruel stalker trying to drive you insane, not someone who'd actually prefer if you got on meds and became a normalish person.

I would love nothing more than for Marissa to get medicated, come back, say "wow I'm nuts off my meds, sorry about that" and then come join the fray and make fun of other lolcows. Of all the people we cover here, she's one of the ones I think would be most genuinely interesting if she were to take care of her problems. She's like someone's hippy-dippy aunt who tells you how to induce abortions with herbal tea or something -- maybe not someone you'd want to be your best friend, but totally worth a few conversations at a minimum.

Unfortunately, the repetition and paranoia keep her from being capable of holding even the barest semblance of a conversation. It really is sad, because she's this older lady with clear experience in psychedelic music scenes of the 60s/70s, which is an amazing era, and she doesn't have enough sense of her own self to take pride in what she actually is and does.

It's okay to write "songs" with no chords or chord structure or consistent key. There's plenty of happy, kooky old ladies who dropped too much acid at Woodstock who now make Youtube vids almost no one watches full of this same kind of washed-up psychedelic noodling. But most of them are content to realize that what they do isn't really good music and is primarily about having a creative outlet, not about having their music consumed by an audience. With a good dose of medication, Marissa could just be one of them.

It's not actually autism. Schizophrenia comes with positive and negative symptoms- positive symptoms include delusions and bizarre behavior, all the things we've seen here. They're active things.

Negative symptoms are passive ones. They can include lack of affect- a disconnection from emotional response to others, apathy, repetition, lack of insight (not knowing you're sick), inability to read social cues or asocial behavior, anhedonia. Extreme negative symptoms can cause catatonia or what looks like agoraphobia, but is actually asociality and apathy, for example.

She's not autistic, she has a handful of negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Proper medication and treatment would help those too, even though antipsychotics help positive symptoms more than negative.

lack of insight is the biggest reason treatment fails, with paranoids. She does not think she's ill and will get furious if told she is.
