I think the general consensus is that the bids on this are almost all fake and there is no way in hell Chris is going to get any money out of this. And I agree with that. However there's also another possibility. Advanced weenery would pay for the item, then complain when it arrives¹ that it was damaged by the seller², getting ebay / paypal to force a refund out of Chris leaving him with no money and no art. Of course the higher the fake bids go, the less likely that becomes, but also the less likely Chris will ever get paid.
¹ Assuming it actually does arrive, because Chris.
² Creased at the very least, but there are also issues with improperly shipping framed art, because glass.
They wouldn't sue. They'd send a C&D, Chris would shit himself, and then take everything down while surreptitiously continuing Sonichu in his own Lego-powered imagination.
☝This. And actually I would not be at all surprised if a ween prompted C&D is already in the works (or a ween-made fake C&D). Sending nasty letters is a small enough expense for IP holders (especially when they already have a stable of salaried lawyers) that's it's almost standard practice for any possibly infringing work that somehow manages to catch their attention, the reasoning being that if it's significant enough to pop up on the radar (they don't take weenery into consideration) , it's significant enough to send a quick letter.
And after this, I don't want anyone discussing him in this thread anymore because I'm not going to let him get the attention.
Well there goes half of this post. Good thing I try to read up on a whole new thread before hitting the reply button, because this post used to be a lot of "stop mentioning that twit by name".
Many people chipped in real money to buy Chris essential living supplies as well as a money order for him to buy whatever the hell he wanted, including Legos if he so wished.
It's even better than that. IIRC the money order had Barb's name on it in the hope that would give it a better chance to be spent on actual necessities. Because making sure he has necessities is what people actually concerned about Chris' well being do, not just ass pat him and give him toys he doesn't need.
If anything, some jackass (probably a forum lurker) tried to inject his own trolling plan into the mix by diverting the package using the public tracking number, and it almost didn't get there. Thankfully he got it and it was well-appreciated, which had succeeded the sole purpose of sending it out.
That's exactly what happened, thanks to some dodo brain accidentally leaking the tracking number. The care package being diverted had nothing to do with the forums, and some here were probably more pissed about it than Chris, especially the poor dodo brain who went above and beyond to make certain Chris got the package after all, despite being redirected by weens.
Maybe? I had a friend selling (high quality) MLP and Legend of Zelda themed hats on Etsy for a good while. Made a couple grand (over a large span of time) and was really small-time. Ended up getting a cease and desist letter, spooked him good so he quit. Could easily see that happening to Chris.
☝This. Especially with all the weens who are doubtless sending Sega and Nintendo friendly messages alerting them to the infringement.
