Sonichu Sonichu drawing for sale

There is a huge circus of weens afoot.

I fervently wish one of them wins the auction, ponies up the money, and feels the regret of receiving a crumpled drawing in the mail.

Well, congratulations to all the weens. They've probably raised Chris's expectations so high that he'll never deign to work for less than $500 a page again. The master plan to stop the flow of content for good is a complete success.

But let's say it is a legit deal and he does make some money on this. Do we honestly believe Chris is going to do the practical, responsible thing and buy groceries for himself and his mother, or is he gonna waste the large majority, if not all of it, on the Lego pile?

If it's up to Chris I'm sure that the money will be spent on frivolous things. I do wonder though if perhaps Barb is making him sell Sonichu stuff. If so than I'm guessing the money will go for a relatively good use.

Selling his art at this point is smart. I know I'm in the minority with that opinion. My bids are serious ones, but it's unfortunate that there are non-serious bids happening. It's not even that funny.
I don't think you're in the minority. Lots of us have said something to that effect. (Shit, I think I said something like that in the last "begging for Legos" thread.) He could actually make some $ from his internet infamy if he would just listen and not constantly insist on doing things his own way.

CREASE DANGER!

So what Chris is saying is that if he feels he doesn't get enough money for his child-like artwork he'll fuck it up for the person kind enough to buy it?
I wonder if a crumpled up original will come complete with crumpleope?

Just think. Somewhere, in some dark, forgotten corner, there's a Sonichu coloured in yellow-green because Chris couldn't find the yellow marker. (Or because it was tinged by brown or black. He's not the type to be careful with his yellow markers.)
I'll bet everything Chris has touched is tinged with brown.

My bids are serious ones,
I'm guessing your bids are also all less than $100.

If you don't mind my asking, how much were you really willing to seriously bid on this?

Where did you find that picture? I've only ever seen it on a podcast I listen to?

As an avid eBay user, I just thought I'd throw my two cents in (also first post, Whoo!)

eBay's T&Cs state that a bid, or BIN purchase, is indeed legally binding. I've heard of cases where sellers have taken buyers to court over unpaid items and won. However, that all depends on whether the seller can be bothered or has the resources/knowledge to do so. I will say with 100% certainty that Chris would never take it that far. But, y'know, he could. But Sonichu being a huge copyright infringement might muddy those waters.

I doubt his infringement on Sega/Nintendo would matter overall though, as people sell fan made things on eBay all the time *cough*mlpplushies*cough*

That would honestly surprise me if Barb had any direct involvement in this. I always envision her using Chris only as an errand boy. If she was actually expecting Chris to something as important as make money for the two of them, then things must be dire indeed.

...and then I remember Chris' $200 Lego Simpsons set...

For any plan relying on his infamy (Or fame in his opinion) not to be overrun by ween trolls at this point I think Chris would need to use services that require immediate payment such as buy it now on eBay (With no bidding) or Indiegogo's Flexible Funding.

There are some reasonably priced internet escrow services. But i don't even think that would be necessary. He could just take requests via email or PM and then show a scanned proof of completed work before money was sent. People do this kinda stuff all the time. Of course, Chris won't do any of it because he'll never admit that his ideas aren't as awesome as he believes them to be, even after this eBay scheme falls right through the basement.
