Yeah, she’s got something going on mentally like bipolar combined with, I guess, sexual abuse of some kind and now drug abuse, who seems to have grown up sheltered in a small town. Plus, Daddy marrying a former exchange student classmate of hers after divorce, basically, she’s got a ton of unresolved issues and wouldn’t have anything to do with Piggy if she were healthy, and he knows this.
Ralph has an extremely fucked up view of masculinity, I hate the term because it gets used so liberally, but Ralph is the definition of toxic masculinity.

The only thing current Ralph has in his life of value, otherwise he's a black hole of failure (of course he had to blame someone else for his own failure to not go home sooner, what a bitch he is)
 
I gotta say that I really think Ralph's genuine love and care for his animals is his best feature.
