Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but some of Phil's new patrons just seem to be others trying to get some free traffic to their's.
From the Patron post from Feb 6, 2 comments within a span of 4 days, both with their own patreons, posted the same thing:

Morons. Utter fucking morons that make the Rat Kings look smart given that Phil makes a point to cut off his victims from the outside world by banning it when he can.

It's like watching someone trying to shove a square block through a circular hole while screaming at the top of their lungs about what a piece of shit the hole is for not letting the block through.

Phil doesn't want a game, he wants a dopamine button he can press that tells him what a great job he did.

The second he faces any opposition he immediately starts falling apart into an angry whining wreck.

I could see him having some sort of sword for self defense. He probably thinks he could take out someone who has a gun with a sword or something. There's the chance he played so many fighting games that he thinks he Matrixed himself some martial arts.
I could see a fight between a sword-wielding Phil and a gun-wielding thief ending a little something like this.

Correct me if I am stupid, but home invasions and kidnappings in the US are not common place.

I never have armed protection when I have worked in the US. I assume that Detroit and Gary, Indiana are not the worst places in US maybe? Is where Phil lives is worse?

Phil can live in the safest place on earth and he'll still think people are out to get him.

Has science gone too far?

Finally, DSP got his own version of CWC-Tok.

He's like Shia LaBeouf doing that "He Will Not Divide Us" ordeal. Except no one -wants- to get Phil. I'm pretty sure most would rather have him go do some boring office job and never post a video again.

Phil's so paranoid that I swear he'd live inside an underground bunker with no human contact for the rest of his life if he could.

What kind of idiot display something like that there? Oh wait it's Phil.

Also, I can't imagine someone like him playing Dragon Age Origins.

If I remember correctly, he practiced Marvel vs Capcom 3 a lot and went to some Fighting Game tournament. He lost to Sanford Kelly (who sucks at Marvel 3) and might have gone 0-2. Then he stayed in his room for the last two days playing Dragon Age Origins on the hotel TV and recorded it for YouTube.

Phil has shown in exactly which rooms of his house all of the more expensive items are located. Speaking strictly hypothetically, a person would only need to be in there for a few minutes in order to clear the place out. His address is very common knowledge, and the gates at the end of his street are somewhat of a deterrent, but as evidenced the smaller one can easily be hopped over.
Thus whether subconsciously or in a desperate attempt to prove his own manhood, self-defense measures for where he lives are in order.
I'd choose a 12-gauge shotgun over a Dragon Age sword.
