The most egregious, blood boiling aspect in this video is how he tells 12 lies a minute to oversell his point. His rant about tv's is blatantly false in many ways, the soviets had contemporary models of modern TV's with the west at the time, like the sapphire 412. He doesn't say how the soviet economy of scale was unable to allow its people to have one in every home or how the centralization stuffed the soviet economy, it HAS to be exaggerated lies about how they're, for some fucking reason, made of cast iron. It goes deeper- soviets have had experimental infrared vision for BT-7 tanks all the way back in 1939, before WW2, it was called "Dudka".

It's doubly ironic because the Israelis during the Yom Kippur War would suffer greatly against Arab T-62s, losing a lot of both M60s and upgraded Centurions to them. Their night fighting capabilities in particular caused a large amount of grief.

I wouldn't really say the pursuit of the Shillelagh massively put the US behind; like the rest of NATO, the US were relying on APDS until the mid 70s, and adopted their own APFSDs in 1978 which is the same year Germany did via Israeli M111. All of this was behind the Soviets who adopted APFSDS in the 60s, but they were just ahead of the game in that regard.

I'd say this is ahistorical, the soviets developed Kontakt-1 because HEAT was becoming more common place down to the infantry level, and it was an effective way to counter it, I wouldn't say they adopted it purely because of the US pursuing the Shillelagh, by the time it was commonly in service the US had started to move on from it.

It's not surprising given what he offers for content. For example tank autists in general will either trend Bovington's Tank Museum chats and related organizations (for newbies and casual viewers) or follow the Chieftain and related company, in part because of the knowledge and objective nature of their material (much like Drachinifel for pre-Cold War naval discussion). All the Pig provides is drunken rambling which, at best, has some tenuous grasp of reality that's quickly defeated by both the video length and his subjective - and often blatantly incorrect - opinions. Click bait only gets you so far now, a lot of people expect informed opinions and evidence to follow up upon, something the Pig will never be able to provide.
