Probably because it's too expensive for them to just get one when there will always be the day when the kid starts to climb out of them...And constantly get into everything else. Not that it needs to be said, but you could really see the selfishness with the Duggars having so many kids. When you have so many that your own children are forced to parent, then you need to give it up. And they kept having kids. They had a risky pregnancy that resulted in a premature baby with their youngest. (And like idiots, these morons left their kids to take care of a fucking premature baby that had seizures so they could fly off to some other country.) That should have been a "message from God" that they needed to give it up.

Instead they pushed for another pregnancy despite the fact that the last one was very risky and dangerous. And they had a miscarriage. It's selfish.

Just adding to this: no, and that would certainly constitute the child endangerment portion of the charges.

On the leggings subject: they might be skirted leggings rather than leggings under a skirt. A bunch of the modesty-themed brands make them, and you can get them cheaply on Amazon and so on. Hell no. There's no mechanism of action to cause a miscarriage in nearly all forms of birth control. I say "nearly all" because some people consider Plan B "birth control" but that's a whole other can of worms. There were ancient, outdated studies that suggested there may have been a link between birth control and miscarriage, but they've since been debunked. Birth control pills, IUD, the ring, the shot, and the patch will not directly cause a miscarriage or birth defects.

I'm certain their logic is that because hormonal birth control thins the uterine lining, if by some chance the birth control failed to prevent ovulation (this happens in very rare cases) this would mean a fertilized egg that was not able to implant is a miscarriage. Obviously the issue with that logic is that even without any form of birth control, this also happens with regular unprotected sex. Functionally birth control does many things, but it works well by both thinning uterine lining, making it difficult for eggs to implant, and hormonally preventing ovulation (releasing eggs) in the first place. She's just an extreme pro-lifer and loves this bullshit.

Agreed, I mentioned it because there have been efforts in Burgerland to conflate Plan B with completely different medications like mifepristone and misoprostol, which is just incorrect but propaganda is propaganda. Drives me insane that I've had to reassure women in clinics that Plan B is not an abortion in any capacity, they are already going through something and hear blatant lies like that told so confidently that they start to doubt themselves.
