It's worth noting that his Patreon hasn't gone up a cent. DSP doesn't realise that the people who actually enjoy him are getting what they want--which is attention from senpai-Phil--by tossing him money on Twitch. They don't want forum access or the ability to vote on his terrible Patreon events, they want him to say their name during a live stream.

It just baffles me that Phil thought he could get away with raising his Patreon goal in the middle of all his fan donations moving to twitch.

He's raising it so it doesn't hit the goal, so he won't feel obligated to do something he doesn't want to do.

Phil Burnell - a man who chose possessions over love, laziness over employment security, instant gratification over life satisfaction and accomplishment.
No longer willing to connect on an interpersonal level with any other life form. And this has all been his own doing. Once so full of life and hope, now completely dependent on the graciousness of others to fund his shallow and slovenly lifestyle.
A tortured soul, unable to grasp the smallest shred of peace in the still quiet of the night, though he may reach for it desperately.
What ruin lies in store for the man this day remains to be seen...

'Stay strong Phil.' For Christ sake, he only got a few copyright claims that are probably going to get easily resolved and got a thousand dollars as compensation for the stress.

Instead of the KingOfHateVlogs maybe he should go with the QueenOfDramaVlogs instead

Do you know how fucking easy it would be to make a Twitter bot that responded in Phil's one-dimensional personality?

"OH WOOOOOOOOOOOOW"
"a HUH HUH HUH OH MY GAAD I CAN'T DO ANYTHING"
"KWALITY KHANTENT"
"VLAHGS"

Phil is like the genital herpes of YouTube. Even when he goes away, he's still there.

If DSP is genuinely interested in staying with Dark Souls 2: SOTFS for the foreseeable future then he had better consider re-joining that covenant which spikes the game's difficulty level. He has been coasting through this playthrough, and it's just not as entertaining as when he's getting his salty ass handed to him.
Entertainment = eyeballs. Eyeballs = increased chances of donations.
Phil's pride may get dropped in a meat grinder in the process, but if he truly is fucked with YouTube for the time being and the financial pressure continues to build then we are in store for desperate, exploding rage and drama the likes of which none of us has seen before.

In general my thoughts are,

1) DSP is probably going to be fine,
2) TakeTwo / Rockstar arbitrarily filing copyright strikes and clutching its IP harder than ever are signs of the times and reflect extremely poorly on them,
3) SoK are fucking faggots.

The way they handled some stuttering spastic German man is kind of embarrassing and no one cares about what your credentials are in an Internet fight. I side with the weird man on her being a dumb bitch.

Their confrontation starts with them screaming at him that they want to see the part of Twitch's Terms of Service that say they can't stream and talk about other users.

Let me help.

https://www.twitch.tv/p/community-guidelines
  • Targeted Harassment, Threats, and Violence Against Others
Harassment, defamation, intimidation, raiding with malicious intent, or stalking of other persons or users, including Twitch Staff, Admins, or Global Moderators, is strictly prohibited.

Aw, what's that? You can't use a community platform to harass other people within that community? What a shame. You could call that a violation of freedom of speech or whatever but even the Kiwi Farms has rules against attacking random people in the community.

Trying to bleed from him information about what could lead to suspension is kind-of a fucking moot point if the report was obviously successful and they did get suspended, yea?

In general their bizarre, self-aggrandizing behavior is incredibly irritating and every time I've been exposed to their content I've liked them less. I think it warrants a closer look at.

I mean, i liked them for a while as background noise w/ their let's endures, but really they're all pretty spergy as soon as one of them starts talking for more than 30 seconds. and their recent attempts at becoming more legitimate w/ guests like that dumb bitch just comes off as obsessive.

i guess it's just a way to stay relevant though, since bottom line is that i can make fun of phil plenty thank you very much and i don't need anyone doing it for me. probably can't talk w/ laveria people or professional youtube folks but the SoK haven't convinced me that i should.

although, i'm pretty happy not to have heard king of pol's voice in a while.

Thank you. It absolutely surprises me that SOK cannot understand that they cannot pull the same shit they did on Smashcast and get away with it.

For one, they have a partnered Twitch user reporting them for their content and two they are blantly violating ToS. While alot of Twitch streamers violate ToS, I am pretty sure the amount of people bitching to Twitch about SOK was enough to get them shitcanned.

An unsubstantiated rumor I have heard is the reason that SOK gets to do their hitpieces on Smashcast with zero problems is

-They bring in a shit-ton of views in Smashcast terms
- They are giving up any revenue they make through Smashcast so they can violate Smashcast ToS. Smashcast made this actual deal with SOK of the rumor is true.

For those who don't know the only reason why the SoK went to twitch in the first place was because freddy boy didn't like the new Smashcast layout and threw a hissy fit.

It's a bit of a random thought, but fuck, his isolation remind me of the movie "The Wall".

I'm not really much of a fan of either DSP or the Sons of Kojima, i'm just more interested in waiting to see how long Phil can keep this plane flying before inevitably crashing. Given that he's about to lose a good chunk of his youtube revenue.

The SoK are really just as bad as phil in terms of behaviour..only a few of them are decent people. Fred is the worst no doubt.
A bold statement, considering the SoK look for the dialogue with DSP's fans and at least try to stay civilized during those conversations. They ran a charity which was a success, and they did not encourage doxxing or false copyright claims. Phil avoids direct dialogue with his "detractors" at any cost, even if it means that his fans cannot have a teamspeak with him during games (or only the biggest drones of them).
