He brought that character back days later for the killing off of Tayleigh though.
The entity was supposed to scare contestants but didn't, if something isn't working you gotta drop it. That's something Jet has expressed in basement recaps/telegram this season and as a fellow creative I really appreciate that he's realized that. 10 failures and a success is better than 1 failure you never let go of and run forever.
Still mad about this, they got rid of EVERYTHING because the fans disliked ONE part of it that could have easily been excised without ruining anything else. But is it really Fishtank without ill-advised wigger crashouts?
I would argue the murder of friendtank failing was actually part of an overarching story of this season that friendtank always wins (with this cast specifically) so actually it was good. I'm much less down on the barricade arc than most, I think it worked in the long term story-wise. In terms of looking back and in terms of my overall enjoyment as it was happening.
They just need to get Jan on the creative team moving forward. He's great behind the scenes and in front of a camera.
In this case it was because Jon stole all the money and buried it in various locations on the property, effectively destroying the in-game economy. I remember Xavier talking about how months later they were still finding Bloodgames gold in random places.
