They still can't figure tha those games were the industry innovation back in the day, and only look more primitive now because technology advanced. It took time to work with hardware and software limitations of 90's computers. Now they just throw some low poly assets in one project and think it's the same thing as the work process old developers had.

True. Or at least reasonably paced. I kinda miss old merc sims like Farcry 2 where you had to be careful and going guns blazing was a surefire way to get killed quickly.

True, but today most indie devs want to stand out in one way or another. Some want to be in your face, others want to be severely autistic and in this case, they try to be overly esoteric. But all of them end up sounding the same.

This is basically signalis with Nietzsche for some fucking reason. Even when you bring forth dialectics, apologetics, metaphysical concepts etc you end up getting what is essentially a rip off of horseshit. Something so shallow you have to wonder if they genuinely read the source material. These devs are merely egoists, because even when you bring forth concepts they can work with, they would rather piss into the wind about wanting to be a tranny above all else. If not that, they are simply ignorant because of modern education.

Have you played Pigface? It's in pre release, I thought it was pretty good. It actually pulls off the retro shooter vibe well, it's low poly and gritty but it actually runs on my shitbox PC.

Good news, everyone! I am writing this Steam post with a computer and not dictating it over the jail phone!

To keep it succinct, after a year of getting gaslit by transphobic morons who convinced themselves that I, I quote, real words from my real file, "have failed to acquire a single competency aiming to attain sobriety", the parole board reviewed my case and instantly kicked my ass out of jail. Hurray! The system works! This experience has been strictly negative and pretty much convinced me that nobody in this country is serious about anything, but let us not linger on that. That was so last year, and it's time to play make the GAAAAAME.

Okay, what are we doing? Well, I dunno yet. I'm stuck in a halfway house which frankly is not that much of an obstacle since I remain allergic to touching grass :D. Still, I'm really not sure how to structure the next step because as I explained previously, Arachne got the hell out of there and is no longer part of the team. To be totally frank, she was not doing anything production critical, so it'll be fine, but I need to re-organize the dates and figure out how to cut the content she was responsible for so that I can turn this into a release that I can both QA and make at the same time. It's time to be a responsible adult and not spend months developing soldering mini-games so that you all actually get to see a 1.0 :)

I know what you're thinking - WHAT ABOUT KIM? Kim is working a day job to make sure that we can actually get to 1.0 without me becoming homeless. Kim is a good person. Please go tell Kim she is awesome and that I love her, she may be the only reason why you're getting another update to this stupid game. She still wants to make content and we're looking at that. If we get to that I will post about it. Stay tuned.

My initial impression of the next steps will be to complete the drafts of the missing story critical levels, re-release the demo club level with the new features (since it's actually up next in the storyline), do the final level and cap off a 1.0 for commercial reasons after which I would like to add the two planned side-missions that I am soft-cutting so that I'm giving myself a reasonable workload. The good news is sales are still going, perhaps not strong but going nevertheless, so there is a very good chance that 1.0 will produce enough income to justify doing things like finishing the netcode (there's been coop netcode in the build all this time, did you notice?) and making extra levels like the VR challenges. I don't want to promise anything at this stage, I'm still evaluating, but I am very certain that the next release will be 12 months from now. I'm aiming to have something by 6 months, ideally! That would be the best. Again, I've been out 72 hours; still getting adjusted here.

In the meantime, I will be continuing to draw the comic in my spare time since I'm officially allowed to have lead pencils (I'll try not to victimize any unsuspecting citizens with them, I promise) and I plan to release them with WIPs on Patreon as a little reward for backers since we've never had anything like that. Asides from that, I wrote a roguelike in C++ on paper while I was in jail. No, really. I may or may not release it. I don't want to dedicate serious time to it, I do not have the time for it, but I feel like you guys are going to want to play it, aren't you? The concept for the game is that you are a parasitic mushroom that can infest corpses and you can disemember defeated enemies and graft their pieces onto yourself as an equipment mechanic. It simulates the fluid density of eyeballs. I had a lot of spare time. Did I mention that it has a distance-field based sliced voxel openGL renderer that I also wrote on paper at 3 AM in a prison cell? It's been an interesting year.

One last thing! To anyone still saying I deserve to get beat up in jail for my horrible crimes, I'll be in cell 7. I haven't turned one down yet.

Funniest part about this blog post is he trying to downplay the contributions of his ex and trying to prop up his new "girlfriend", who is now his workslave, who's got an ACTUAL job to pay for their bills.
The way this is all written you can tell he went back to taking drugs again, a lot of meandering about what he's going to do with no set in stone plan, apparently, he's a prosecuted genius that wrote an entire roguelike C game in a napkin in his jail, it's all written in this hap-hazard way that you can tell the person writting it was doing so with a very muddy head. Maybe, just maybe, there was a reason why he was in jail to begin with?

I’d love to both A: see his actual case file for whatever happened (wouldn’t be too hard to likely find out who he is) and B: actually see what his now former “wife” said. I absolutely believe his line about “transphobic morons reading my case file” is made up because no one has seemingly found his file (finding public Canadian prosecution records is fairly difficult).

I also looked up what gets you in jail for 3 years in Canada which means he was in a federal penitentiary jail (state jails only do up to 2 years), plus the crime of getting in so either aggravated assault, breaking and entering, armed robbery, theft of over 5k, firearms offences (think owning an unregistered semi-automatic rifle) or drug trafficking charges specifically, not possession. Makes me think he either got caught in some Mountie sting op or did something insanely retarded. You have to fuck up bad to go to jail in Canada as a tranny.

I have to say as well, he seems to have some normalcy and solace before he got to prison, I assume him going to prison and taking drugs again broke something, considering he probably was doing these in the past. He also states to have been mistreated in the transition jail he was held at in the next update. Though I would take it with a grain of salt from the person being put away on, supposedly, aggravated assault charges, who also admits to taking drugs in prison.

I really wanted to keep it positive for y'all but it's been sad for worse- the cops discharged a fire extinguisher in my mouth and forced me to swallow. You can thank the peak of human intellect at Nightdive Studios for their technological marvel of software engineering known as KEX Engine. A shitty condom-esque wrapper of a game engine that didn't need to exist OR be used at all. These dipshits have access to the source code of Blood yet they still fucked it up.
The true horror is how many people line up for their releases and beg in many comment sections online like the spiritual browns that they are for Nightdive to violate another IP. I hate niggercattle and Nightdive so much it's unreal.
 
Would say Ultrakill has some interesting things despite how most of the dev team seems like cornballs but with cruelty squad i am positive it's because it's ugly on purpose and its generic "FUCK CAPITALISM" message is megaphoned at you.
Cruelty Squad worked because it was a really good game with obtuse mechanics and cool ways to find secrets. It is very similar to E.Y.E in that regard. It's cynicism can be off-putting but the game wasn't exclusively anti-capitalist rhetoric.
On the flip side Psycho Patrol R is terrible. Sold for 40 dollars virtue signalling with the price, generally boring gameplay compared to Cruelty Squad, and he has basically stopped development.
Cruelty Squad was lightning in a bottle by a gay artfag developer, co-opted by troons, forever condemned to be called overrated and constantly poorly copied for the next 5+ years.
