Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

I seriously doubt Magyar will flip against the first two, but hopefully he will stop the Russian oriented interference. The problem of energy - gas bought from Russia coming in a pipeline through Ukraine (which Russia has bombed) is difficult to solve either way though.
As I understand it, digging around after @latinlover introduced us to this rabbit hole, the issue is that any attempts to woo Hungary away from Russian oil & gas were doomed to failure because Orban couldn't nakedly grift tax dollars from non-russian sources.
Now that the thirsty leech is gone, there is a chance the grifting stops and Russia has to compete on a level field, not just being able to buy off the president.
With Venezuela back on the global oil market, depending on how the Iran situation shakes out this might be a yuge blow for Russia.

The doomer take is that nothing will really change on the EU front; Fico will step up to be the vetoing pissant now that Orban is gone, and Iran spiraling into Total Retard War will fuck the cost/supply of oil such that Russia will only make more money.

Wolves do not fuck with bison unless they are starving. Everything but brown bears are easier to hunt.
Wolves most definitely fuck around during calving season, and they follow the herds for the old and sick. They follow the herds same as humans. But healthy adults gave no fucks about wolves that kept a respectful distance, to the point a usual camoflauge for humans hunting Bison was a wolf skin.

I was thinking healthy, adult bison, but I'm also a bit slow.

Had to do a double take when I saw this: according to a report published yesterday by Russian investigative outlet Proekt, the Russians have been testing artillery (among other things) on human subjects. LOL? Article in English about Proekt's findings.

"These studies utilize military volunteers to determine the specific shell characteristics needed for the destruction or incapacitation of enemy manpower."

"The investigation describes a specialized testing ground featuring experimental sites that simulate fortifications and military equipment. During these trials, researchers monitored the cardiovascular and nervous systems of the volunteers.

They also took biological samples to evaluate how functional body impairments correlate with the distance from shots fired by 122 mm and 300 mm caliber cannons."

Just superior Russian Smekalka comrade. While the west wastes thousands of dollars on pressure sensors, plywood, and simulations to test incapacitation superior Russians can do it for only a thousand rubles.

(Curious if there's more to the story because all you really need is pigs/goats/sheep. That's how the US used to test overpressure/chemical/nuclear effects prior to developing more detailed models that were based and validated off the historical testing against livestock.)

Russian Z-blogger Yegor Kholmogorov believes that Russian authorities are under a demonic assault and are possessed. This is the only explanation he was able to find for their "irrational behavior", which, he says, "can no longer be described in rational terms.""All this frenzy of bans, aggression, the complete lack of any sense of proportion or feedback loops. What we are dealing with is a large-scale demonic assault on the minds of politicians who hold conservative and, to some extent, Christian views.Demons are quite literally besieging them and pushing them toward absurd actions and mistakes. In other words, we are witnessing a state of possession - something that even a saint cannot always withstand, let alone Trump or our officials."
Anton Gerashchenko on Xitter

Zlogger believes that the Russian authorities are making such bad decisions because they are possessed. That's one way of putting it.

Probably a drone, but oftentimes in Russia the bottle can never be discounted.

An explosion has occurred at the Kazan Gunpowder Factory in Russia's Tatarstan, resulting in a fire. The cause is believed to be man-made.

Details: The press service for the head of Tatarstan reported that part of the structure collapsed as a result of the fire. According to the authorities, the fire was caused by human activity.

Since the start of the war on Iran, fears have grown in Ukraine that the country could be left to fend for itself in its war of defense against Russia. At the same time, US President Donald Trump has been pushing for a quick peace deal between Russia and Ukraine and has drastically cut US aid to Ukraine. As a result, Germany and other European countries are playing a bigger role.

However, following Viktor Orban's election defeat in Hungary on Sunday, there is likely to be less pushback from European leaders on continuing support for Ukraine. At the German-Ukrainian government talks in Berlin this Tuesday, the German government intended to send a reassuring message that they can continue to count on Germany.

Apart from the US, Germany is by far the second-largest bilateral donor to Ukraine. The German government has provided nearly €100 billion ($118 billion) in support to the country since the start of the war (as of early 2026). Germany has provided military, financial, technical and humanitarian aid. And this also includes taking in well over one million Ukrainian refugees.

At Tuesday's meeting, Chancellor Merz promised to advocate for the swift release of the promised €90 billion loan from the European Union to Ukraine. Hungary had previously blocked the disbursement, but with the change of government, a disbursement should be possible by mid-May, according to sources within the German delegation.

Federal Chancellor Merz pledges to maintain aid to Ukraine despite political headwinds from the scum of the far left and far right (honestly Die Linke and AfD are really the same despite a divergent history, both are Kremlin stooges).

I didn't like the lifeline it gave the Russians but at least the sanctions actually went back up, from the looks of things.
I suspect it was an expression of displeasure at Russian help to Iran in targeting US forces and partners.

I honestly can't tell if the U.S. govt TPTB were even aware of them lifting the Russian oil sanctions had that tripwire hidden in it. Which if Putin was the master 6D chess master, he should've seen and or suspected the tripwire and behave himself by not supporting Iran.

Yeah wolves primarily go after large grazing animals like deer and bison, they have to split their catches between 3-5 packmembers, so small catches are no good. This is why it is important for deer and bison to stay in big groups. A pack of wolves stands absolutely no chance against a large herd of bison, which is why they try to split off and isolate members from the herd, and particularly go after slower and weaker members, the young, the old and the crippled.

Wolves do standoff tactics, they gang up on a target and wait for it to make a move, if it tries to flee, they will rip the prey to shreds, same thing if it tries to fight. If the prey refuses to move, and doesn't give into the intimidation of the wolves snarling and growling at it, they can sit there for hours trying to wear it down. This is why the common advice if you were to somehow end up surrounded by wolves is to stand your ground, make yourself look bigger, and try to scare them off by screaming and staring at them.

This is like when a gangbanger gets stupidly forgiving parole for the dumbest reason; then goes and almost immediately goes right back to doing dumb gangbanger shit.

Sounds like they're using bodies and not live volunteers
It sounds like they are doing both and the article is poorly written/poorly translated.

It sounds like they are doing two parts of the project.
One is having live volunteers measure the effectiveness of various fortification types against being hit; You don't hook up cardio monitors and a EKG to a corpse. In vietnam, the NVA in general lacked weapons that could take out M60 tanks, but in pitched engagements the US had to rotate tank crews every couple hours because the while RPGs couldn't penetrate the armor they would concuss the crew and they'd be loopy and "punch drunk" for a day or two.

So it sounds like Russia is putting live """""volunteers"""""" into various shelters and see how stressed they get from simulated bombardment with mid-caliber rounds; will their soldiers feel safe and stay and fight, or will they panic and break despite being protected? Will they be alive but too disorientated to fight back effectively?

Then it sounds like they are using cadavers to see how effective they are against larger caliber rounds.

They also took biological samples to evaluate how functional body impairments correlate with the distance from shots fired by 122 mm and 300 mm caliber cannons."
Translation: they used the state of the moblik's underwear to determine the effectiveness.

I'm just assuming they have access to a ton of corpses thanks to the SMO, and might as well get some use from them before putting them into the cuber.

That's why Russian sanction exemptions weren't renewed.

This have been a known issue albeit better understood by WWII. With experience German tank crews needing to manhandle and restraint the noobs and those who just mentally break. When their tanks are being bombed as the safest place was in their tanks. While the noobs don't yet understand this and try to make a break for the hatches and bail out.

Is Putin losing the e-thots? N... no, zisters...

Former reality TV star Victoria Bonya, 46, stunned her viewers in a scathing address to Vladimir Putin.

Often seen sporting Putin merch on her social media, the influencer flipped on the dictator in front of her 12.9million followers.

“People are afraid of you,” she began in a selfie video posted overnight. “Ordinary people are afraid, bloggers are afraid, artists are afraid. Governors are afraid of you.”

“Do you know what this leads to? I’ll tell you. People will grow tired of being afraid.

“They are being compressed like a spring – and one day that spring will snap.”

That's the last person I would expect to say something this based. I wonder what prompted that.

The Sterlitamak oil and chemical plant, Republic of Bashkortostan, was ACK'd:

The moment an UAV hits the ammonia processing unit:

The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Mykhailo Fedorov, announces 1 billion € from Spain and Belgium in military aid each:
Air defense systems, drones, and long-range artillery — agreed on cooperation priorities with Belgium and Spain ahead of "Ramstein"

Had talks with the defense ministers of Belgium, Theo Francken, and Spain, Margarita Robles. Synchronized key areas of cooperation — strengthening air defense, developing drone capabilities, and the "Czech initiative" to provide the front with long-range artillery.

Belgium is allocating €1 billion in defense aid to Ukraine this year. The country also confirmed its intention to transfer additional F-16 fighters to Ukraine and ensure the supply of spare parts for existing aircraft.

This year, Spain is also providing €1 billion in support to Ukraine. During the meeting, attention was paid to the development of cooperation between defense industries, particularly within the European SAFE mechanism. We are ready to offer a list of manufacturers who can establish cooperation with Spanish companies.

For its part, Ukraine also offered the opportunity to test Spanish drones in combat conditions.

Thanked Belgium and Spain for their consistent support. Thanks to win-win cooperation with partners, Ukraine continues to contain the enemy's advance on the ground, de-occupy territories, protect the sky, and increase the effectiveness of intercepting missiles and drones, as well as intensify strikes on Russia's economy.
